Let me put on my NDT hat and spoil things with a bit of realism/science. His eyes would adjust, people who wear sunglasses don't have everything in a permanent monochrome gray, and the same will hold true for other colors - although some additional difficulty distinguishing shades of color is likely. More difficulty than the average guy has, anyways.
Dark does not mean deep.
So in other words it's a bit of a mess. I think he has been referenced more as seeing everything in red, so I'm sticking with that.

Spurrier’s Legacy did so much for her character. I bet she’s gonna have her speech impediment back again with no mention of anything that happened in that book.
Will at least be fun to see Rosenberg argue that he’s 100% following continuity and it will all make sense by the end, pinky swear.
Cyclops inability to control his blasts makes him ideal for getting on the disabled or differently abled list with no questions asked. no one would volunteer to ensure he isn't faking it by checking his eyes after one or two incidents.
