I still say the main problem with the Hobbit trilogy was they rushed 2 and especially 3. If they had given Jackson a year between 2 and 3 I think both would have been much better movies. Forcing that yearly release date really hurt them by the time they got to part 3 because they just did not have enough time to polish the film. The FX especially looked lackluster in part 3 and that was all because of it being so rushed.

The mention of John Carter reminds me, I have a soft spot for movies with a lot of grand cinematic splashy scenes. (And yet, it somehow doesn't carry over to the Transformers movies, which I don't like...). John Carter was one of those. The sky-sailing ships were amazing. The hordes of tharks. The costumes. Just fun, a visual feast. Other movies that have similarly impressed me for their visuals (and been underrated, IMO) include The Fifth Element, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and Jupiter Ascending, as well as the first season of Into the Badlands, or the (not even slightly under-rated!) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. All visually fantastic.

I also kind of liked the Green Lantern movie, even if the post-Johns version of Hal Jordan who is an douchebro manchild with issues doesn't feel like the serious and respected and experienced Hal Jordan I grew up with. My biggest quibble with the movie would be that it's *too faithful* to the current version of the character, of whom I'm not a fan. That said, Ryan Reynolds portrayal felt like a spot-on representation of Geoff Johns version of Hal Jordan, so I don't get why people complained about him.

Hook was very funny and very touching. Also a lot of energy and intensity. Never understood the dislike of it.

I *think* it's been mentioned already, but it's a shame that Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow wasn't a blockbuster hit.

I do hope that it at least paves the way conceptually to a good Blackhawk movie.

I give The Hobbit trilogy alot of leeway since Jackson literally had 1 month to prepare and was working 22 hours a day since Del Toro left after WB bungled the release dates.

The original Conan the Barbarian starring Ah-nold as the Cimmerian wasn't that bad. There! I said it.

I litteraly have never heard anyone saying it was a bad movie.

The sequel on the other hand seems to be mixed across the board. Many agree Destroyer isn't better, but the split seems to be if its still good regardless or just inferior all around.

And then there's Not-Conan-III aka Red Sonja.

Ah and the remake with Momoa. I liked it, I just wish it had a Basil Poledouris-esque score to go with it. I think my biggest problem with it was Lane was no Jones.

Momoa was actually more accurate to the books iirc.

I think Conan the Destroyer came across more like a D&D adventure. I think the remake with Momoa failed by being too true to the books. It was too violent to take the kids or a date. A female friend of mine who is NOT weak-stomached (she plays computer games where people get eviscerated all the time) said she literally had to focus to keep from throwing up right there in the theater when Conan grabbed the guy by the area where the nose was missing.
    Power with Girl is better.

As for the SC itself, there's no fully completed, ready-to-go version of it, but there is a cut that has what Snyder wanted in it. It would, however, take effort to edit it, do effects work and the like. I know the odds are very, very against it happening, but I still want there to be a complete Snyder DC trilogy, as it were.

Coming back to the main topic, another movie that's not that bad is the Director's Cut of Daredevil. It's by no means great, but it includes a whole subplot involving Foggy Nelson that got cut out of the original version and is a better movie than the theatrical cut by a country mile.
    I completely agree with this.

The Saw movies. It gets a lot of crap for being mindless torture porn films when there's usually more to them then just having cool death traps. Saw V and Final Chapter are ass though.

Eight Crazy Nights. The quality of the animation saves it from is the typical juvenile Adam Sandler movie.

Fans of the Robert Howard stories hate the films. They want to see an adaption more closely resemble his work.

I gotta disagree with people saying Green Lantern was solid. Hated that movie haha However... I didn't mind the newest Fantastic Four movie. Not perfect but not completely terrible. People will probably think I'm crazy for saying that haha

Think you mean Eight Crazy Nights, and I have to admit the last song in the town hall gets stuck in my head sometimes.
