If you want an idea on what Karla Pecheco's writing is like, read Fantastic Four 2099. I was NOT expecting that ending and I LOVED it. I think Jess is in pretty great hands.

When I was reading the rest of the issue:

    (Venom#19)

    When I saw that ending:

    (Absolute Carnage#5)

So yeah, if she can have that kind of quality for Spider-Woman, I'm in.

The Gehenna Stone Affair Part 3 of 6: "Blood Ties"
    Madripoor:
Twin brothers, Larry and Garry enter the Princess Bar looking for drinks.
When O'Donnell questions the two rude customers if they have money to buy drinks,
Larry shows off a chunk of the Gehenna Stone before his brother scolds him for flashing it again.
They tell O'Donnell that they'll have plenty of cash once they sell off the valuable stone.

    San Francisco:
Patch, Archie, Burt and Jessica Drew are heading to
where Archie landed his plane in a stolen vehicle when the police begin to chase them.
Before they can catch up, Logan jumps out of the car and onto the hood of the police vehicle and rams his
Adamantium claws into the engine forcing the police to pull over while Logan jumps back into their getaway vehicle.

With the police off their backs, Jessica starts demanding that Burt explain what all
the commotion is about the piece of the Gehenna Stone that he has in his possession.

    Madripoor:
Larry and Garry decide to get a room for the night at the Princess Bar, when Larry once more brags about the Gehenna Stone.
Garry gets angry and hits him. The two get into a brief scuffle before Larry snaps out of his rage and the two brothers
help themselves up and decide to go to the room that O'Donnell has provided for him. Their actions puzzle the bar owner.

    San Francisco:
Burt tells them that his stone is but a fragment of a larger stone and explains it's origin:
In ancient times in the land of Gehenna, perverse acts of evil were the rule of the day
and the people there worshiped their leader the man-demon known as Ba'al,
who would encourage them to commit their heinous acts -- chief among those the drinking of blood.
Ba'al was eventually killed by a man known as the Hand of God, a legendary warrior.
Ba'al would live on as his evil essence would be transferred into the Gehenna Stone, created by his followers.
However, the Hand of God would come and break the stone into fragments and scatter them across the globe.

Burt goes on to tell them that archaeologists began finding pieces of the stone,
and for the most part believed the legend of the Gehenna Stone to be nothing more than a myth.
When Burt heard that the stones were slowly being stolen over the course of the last two years,
he used his money and influence to get on the board of directors of the San Francisco Museum of Antiques
so that he could switch their chunk of the stone with a fake one so that he could protect it.
When the others ask Burt how he learned of the plot to reassemble the Gehenna Stone, he tells them that he just knew.
He finishes by telling them that he believes that someone claiming to be the
descendant of Ba'al is the mastermind behind the plot to reassemble the stone.

As they speed off to the airport, Patch asks to see the stone and they are all
surprised as Burt becomes excessively possessive about the stone and refuses to let it go.
They carry on to the airport, unaware that Ba'al and his minions are waiting for them.

    Madripoor:
Sleep isn't easy for Larry and Garry who begin to bicker with one another over the stone.
They eventually get into a fight over it which ends with the two twin
brothers -- once a tight-knit team -- stabbing each other with knives.

    San Francisco:
Patch and the others arrive at the airport to find that Ba'al and his army of vampires are waiting for them there.
Patch orders them to go to the plane while he holds off their attackers. However, they are soon swarmed.

In the scuffle, one of Ba'al's followers manages to knock out Burt and steal his fragment of the Gehenna Stone.
As things rage on, Ba'al makes his presence known and Patch instantly attacks him.
Furious that someone has the nerve to attack him, Ba'al's superior
mystical powers and strength catch Patch off guard and he is easily beaten.
Growing tired of battle, Ba'al orders his men to flee so that they might
continue their search for the remaining fragments and escape by plane.
In the aftermath of the battle, Burt becomes frantic to get his portion of the stone back.
Archie knocks him out with a punch. Patch convinces him that they have to go after Ba'al and his followers
to prevent him from reassembling the stone. They all run to Archie's plane to chase after them.

    Madripoor:
O'Donnell is sitting quietly watching the patrons in his bar when suddenly
blood drops down from the floor above and onto his table. Going to investigate,
he finds Larry and Garry dead on the floor -- stabbed to death by their own knives --
and their fragment of the Gehenna Stone laying in a puddle of blood.

The Gehenna Stone Affair Part 4 of 6: "Flying Wolves"
    In the Air:
Patch, Archie, Burt and Jessica Drew are flying after an airplane
piloted by Ba'al and his followers who are making their getaway with fragments of the Gehenna Stone.
As they close in, Logan reflects on their trip to San Francisco that led to their clash with Ba'al and his minions.
He then goes in the back to get a more appropriate outfit from his luggage.

    Madripoor:
At the Princess Bar, Police Chief Tai and Lindsay McCabe are on the scene as the Madripoor police take out
the bodies of Larry and Garry, twins who killed themselves over possession of a fragment of the Gehenna Stone.
When O'Donnell shows the stone to Tai and McCabe, he refuses to relinquish it.
While Tai is not interested in it and leaves, McCabe is mesmerized by it and asks to see it again.
O'Donnell tells her to come back later, much later, and he will show it to her.

    In the Air:
Jessica Drew's thoughts are of what Lindsay might be up to back in Madripoor. She also begins to wonder
about her secret employment through Prince Baran and his desire for her to keep close tabs on Patch.

Her thoughts are interrupted when a follower of Ba'al pops out of the side
door of his plane with a machine gun and starts firing at Archie's plane.
Jessica jumps out of Archie's craft and lands on the roof of Ba'al's in an attempt to stop the shooter.
She is able to cling to the roof thanks to her remaining spider-powers.
At this point Logan, having changed into his Wolverine costume, comes out from the back of the plane.
He is filled in on what's going on. Wolverine jumps out of the plane and clings onto Ba'al's thanks to his claws.
After disarming the vampire shooting at them, Jessica reveals
to Logan that she saw right through his Patch disguise all along.

Wolverine knocks two of the shooters out of the way of the doorway
and enters Ba'al's plane and begins brawling with his followers.
He is shortly joined by Jessica, who was knocked out of the plane but managed to grab hold outside.
Witnessing this, Archie flies his plane above Ba'al's while Burt drops down a rope ladder to try and help her.
This doesn't go as planned as some of Ba'al's followers grab the rope ladder and begin climbing up to Archie's plane.

    Madripoor:
O'Donnell is in his bedroom gazing at the portion of the Gehenna Stone when there is a knock at the door.
Answering it he finds Lindsay McCabe is there. She tells him that she must see the stone.
He tells her that she can look at it tomorrow.
She takes off her coat to reveal that she is wearing nothing but a nightgown underneath.
She insists that he lets her hold the stone.
He tells her that it all depends on how nicely she asks and the two embrace in a kiss.

    In the Air:
As Wolverine continues to battle his way through the plane, Ba'al uses the partially reassembled
Gehenna Stone to transform one of his followers into a bestial form and turns him loose on Logan.
Wolverine finds this creature is more than a match for him. However as they battle on, one of the
creatures wild punches strikes the back of the head of the pilot, crushing his skull and killing him instantly.
With the plane about to go down, Wolverine is caught in a bear hug.
He manages to get free by ramming his claws into the plane's electrical panel.
This gets the creature off him long enough to use his claws to cut a hole up to the roof and go to Jessica's aid.
With Burt having fought off the vampires who attempted to board their ship sending them falling to their deaths,
Archie swings the plane around as Wolverine and Jessica jump off Ba'al's crashing aircraft.

They manage to grab hold of Archie's rope ladder and get away safely
as the plane crashes into the ocean seemingly killing Ba'al and his followers.
As he watches the plane explode Wolverine witnesses the flames form into the face of Ba'al.
In his mind Logan hears Ba'al mocking him and telling him that he is not defeated
and this time not even the Hand of God can stop him from reforming the Gehenna stone.

    Madripoor:
O'Donnell and Lindsay's lovemaking is cut short when suddenly armed soldiers burst into their room.
They are lead by Johann, Prince Baran's aid, who tells them that
the prince has learned that they have something that he wants right away.

    Wolverine #15 Nov 1989
The Gehenna Stone Affair Part 5 of 6: "Homecoming!"
Following their battle with Ba'al over the Pacific Ocean, Wolverine and his comrades have returned to Madripoor.
Wolverine has taken to stalking the rooftops when he finds Police Chief Tai and his men
hassling Lindsay McCabe, having become affected by the Gehenna Stone's influence.
Tai has come to McCabe seeking the fragment that was in the possession of O'Donnell.
Wolverine cuts in and easily beats up the police officers and disarms Tai while Lindsay makes her escape.
Not recognizing Logan as Patch, Tai warns Wolverine that he's a dead man as the mutant flees the scene.

Deciding to switch back to his Patch identity, Logan pays a visit to the Princess Bar, uncertain of what the whole altercation was about.
He has a hunch that it might have something to do with the Gehenna Stone.
He walks in on O'Donnell and Lindsay just as the two are coming to blows in a heated argument
over recollecting the fragment of the stone that was taken from them by Prince Baran's men.
Logan stops the fight from escalating further. However, Lindsay gets a moment to knee O'Donnell
in the groin before storming off and revealing that she too knew that Patch was Wolverine.
Much more to his irritation he finds out that O'Donnell knows as well.

However he reflects back on his flight back to Madripoor with Jessica Drew and how she didn't mention she knew he was really
Wolverine because someone with his temper and claws would be the last one to tell that you've seen through his flimsy disguise.
As Logan and O'Donnell sit down to discuss things Archie bursts in screaming
at Logan about how Burt has stormed off since they have arrived in Madripoor.
However, Logan has him calm down you can't argue with his claws after all and listen to O'Donnell's story.

Elsewhere in Madripoor, Burt is wandering around wondering if running off on his brother was such a smart idea when much
to his surprise he witnesses followers of Ba'al grab a Lowtown prostitute in order to make a blood sacrifice to their master.
The problem is they also spotted Burt.

Back at the Princess Bar, O'Donnell tells Logan and Archie about how he claimed
a strange gem from two men who had killed themselves in one of the rooms above the bar.
He and Lindsay became entranced by it and in a moment of passion they were interrupted
by Johann and the prince's soldiers who came to claim the stone. O'Donnell was forced to hand it over.
However once it was in Johann's possession he pulled out a gun and threatened to kill Lindsay if they didn't give him back the stone.
Calling him on it, Johann and his men left the room, and although O'Donnell literally meant it, he didn't shoot her when they left.
O'Donnell's story is interrupted when suddenly Tai and his officers storm the Princess Bar, also coming to seek the fragment of the Gehenna Stone.

Out on the streets, the vampire followers of Ba'al find that Burt Corrigan is not exactly a defenseless victim.
He surprises them when he pulls out a whip and begins fighting them off.
He soon becomes overpowered but is saved by Jessica Drew who has been tailing him the whole time.
She guns down most of the vampires but one manages to escape.

Recognizing them as followers of Ba'al, Jessica and Burt follow.

The altercation at the Princess Bar meanwhile, has turned into an all-out brawl between Logan, O'Donnell, Archie and the police.
Ultimately, the fight is stopped when Logan pins Tai to the wall and threatens to kill him if the fight continues.
Logan then has them all compare notes and realizes that O'Donnell, Tai, and Lindsay were all in the proximity of
a fragment of the Gehenna Stone and that it's influence had made them all become violently possessive of the object.
Realizing it is now in the hands of the most powerful man in Madripoor, they all decide to go and seek out Prince Baran.

Meanwhile, Jessica has tracked the lone member of Ba'al's minions to the Prince's palace.
Thinking him to be an intruder, Jessica uses her credentials and ties to the Prince to get an audience with him.
She is invited in by Johann and brought to the prince.
Before she can tell him about the "intruder" she is shocked to find and be introduced to the Prince's guest: Ba'al.

Happy Birthday to the late GREAT John Buscema!!!

    Wolverine #16 Nov 1989
The Gehenna Stone Affair Part 6 of 6: "Electric Warriors"
As Patch, O'Donnell, Archie Corrigan and Police Chief Tai head to the palace of Prince Baran to try
and take back the fragment of the Gehenna Stone from him, they are attacked by the vampire minions of Ba'al.
They easily dispatch their attackers. However in the confusion Logan slips away from them to pursue things on his own.
As his friends note his disappearance and decide to go on their own, Logan doffs his Patch guise and changes into Wolverine.

As he travels to the palace in stealth, within the palace Jessica Drew tries
to convince Prince Baran that Ba'al is the embodiment of evil and that he intends to use the completed Gehenna Stone
-- once having completed his transaction purchasing the final fragment from the prince himself -- to take over the world.
The prince scoffs at this idea and points out that he can't be that evil if he's come to buy the fragment off of him.
Ba'al then offers to sweeten the pot with the offer of immortality. As Burt begins tracking Jessica back to the prince's castle,
the prince decides to mull over both Ba'al's offer and Jessica's warning and tells Ba'al to come back tomorrow.
Furious at having to wait longer, Ba'al warns Baran to make up his mind now or never.
Not liking his visitors tone, Baran orders his guards to remove him.
A full out battle takes place when Ba'al refuses to leave without the fragments and kills Johann with his bare hands.

The soldiers firepower and Jessica's remaining spider-powers prove too little
to stop Ba'al, who easily shrugs off the bullets and begins fighting back.
By this point, Wolverine has reached the castle and hears the battle inside and begins scaling the walls to get in.

As Burt nearly runs down O'Donnell and the others while speeding to the palace in a jeep,
Wolverine bursts in on an army of Ba'al's followers. He fights through them and frees Jessica.
They rush to the Prince Baran's room where the prince has failed to stop Ba'al
from obtaining the final fragment and reassembling the Gehenna Stone.
With the stone completed its power transforms him into an even more demonic form
and he uses his newly restored powers to transform his minions into true vampires.

Wolverine, Jessica and Baran fight through the minions of Ba'al to get to their master and Wolverine locks in battle with him.
As the two clash, Ba'al implies that Wolverine might be the reincarnation
of the Hand of God, the being who slew him many thousand years ago.
Wolverine proves to be no match for Ba'al until Burt Corrigan arrives
and uses his whip to knock the Gehenna stone from the monsters hands.

Wolverine dives for it, but Ba'al manages to recover the stone and use its power against the feral mutant.
Wolverine manages to resist the onslaught and manage the strength to shatter the stone once more with his adamantium claws.
His powers weakened, Ba'al is stunned long enough for Logan to land a killing blow, impaling his claws into Ba'al's chest.
The resulting strike causes an explosion that blasts open a hole in the wall of the castle
and Wolverine forces Ba'al out sending them both falling to the water below.
O'Donnell and the others arrive just in time to see Baran's guards taking away Ba'al's followers
now back in human form now that the Gehenna Stone was destroyed.
Archie notices that his brother Burt is missing among the crowd.
While not far on the beach below, Wolverine pulls himself to shore and almost passes out on the beach.
To his surprise, Ba'al rises from the water as well and lurches to shore.
However, he doesn't fare as well as Wolverine had and falls down dead.
Convinced that Ba'al is defeated, Wolverine forces himself up and leaves the beach.

Later, back in his Patch guise, Logan meets up with is friends at the Princess Bar.
He explains to Archie that the reason the stone can't be reassembled and has no power
because it was shattered before Ba'al was killed and that his essence couldn't return to the shattered globe.
With all the chaos over, Jessica and Archie wonder why the Gehenna Stone had no effect
on Wolverine and Jessica wonders if he might not be the reincarnation of the Hand of God.

Logan dismisses this notion and orders another drink, and when Archie wonders where his brother is Logan tells him not to worry,
that Burt may be crazy but since he was able to handle his own against vampires and demons he should be fine on his own.

Meanwhile, at an undisclosed casino, Burt is doing just fine winning at a hand of cards.
When one of the patrons of the casino asks him who he is, he introduces himself as James Bond.

So Spider-Woman is getting a new costume, per Newsarama article. I love a good redesign but I have to say I hate this. Looks like a poorly designed amalgam of Peter and Natashas looks.

Hopefully it’ll grow on me but I’m really disappointed ☹️

dont see much of the natasha besides the colors but the Peter webbing is weird since she doesn't use webs i believe and the fact that Her and Peter don't really have that much history between one another

I actually like the new costume. It seems like a mesh of Peter's and Miles' costumes with the touches of yellow as subtle nods to her own classic costume.

No, she doesn't have web shooters. She can wall crawl but usually doesn't bother since she can glide. She also has a venom blast similar to Miles's. Those webbed areas should've been plain red. She looks like a Peter spin-off, which she isn't.
