Phoebe got the hang of using the ghostbusting equipment pretty quickly, though with the usual collateral damage that comes with the job.

Just got out. Family loved it. The little girls steals the movie. The post movie scenes are great. Shame almost everyone left and missed them.

Also cought a video game nod!

The safe mode on the packs were added in the ps4 video game as a deal with the city to tone down the damage and at the maid from the first movies request after they almost hit her with the pack! We did get a game nod!

Looks like film is doing better then they expected. Heading for $40m.

Is this movie over-nostalgic like the force Awakens?

Well, they already tried to do a hard reboot, and look what happened. I think the nostalgia works for the movie.

I do wonder- when Paul Rudd is in Wal-Mart and gets some ice cream out of the freezer, it was Baskin Robins ice cream. Could that be a wink-and-nod to Ant-Man? Or does Rudd have some weird promotional deal with them

Doesn't have to be one or the other. The 2016 movie's problem was it wasn't funny enough

They have some fun in jokes but you can watch the film without watching the old ones and enjoy it. It does take some of the things from the first movie but changes it up a bit. First half of the film gave me a goonies/ stranger things mixed with a haunted house type vibe. Second half felt more classic ghostbusters feel.

Family enjoyed it. Our showing clapped at the end. Most walked out at the end and missed both post movie scenes. Shame as they were great. Don't miss them. They are both fun.

The nostalgia works to a point. But it shouldn't be a slave to it. I get that they want to remind the audience why we love the franchise so much, but at points it felt like an apology for the 2016 film, "See? We heard you".

It's crime was that it was terrible.

That's what I was worried about

Does the film have any genuinely scary parts?

Being a horror fan, the chair scene in the 84 film, and the ghostly kidnapping of Oscar in Part II, are big reasons why I love the first 2 Ghostbusters films. I love the perfect balancing act of the horror and the SNL comedy.
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Without spoiling, yes there are including a couple of jump scares.

Me and my gf both said at the same time this was like the goonies / Ghostbusters

Great family movie and frankly I could see the cast grow up and be the modern day Ghostbusters for a few movies

Podcast and the spangler girl totally steal the movie and Paul rudd delivers top notch supporting cast.

Also thank god the original team could get a great exit to the series.

Critics are idiots. This will go down as a family classic film.
