I doubt that was a new headstone as much as it was a horrible artist. X-Men Blue showed Tyke at a grave with the full inscription. That scene in PR was unclear as to where that body came from and what they did with it after.

But did we never see what Emma (or Alex) did with the body after DoX?

Wasn't Scott at peace then? He'd never want Jean to merge herself with the bird again. Not like that. Nobody was a victim.

Unless you're talking about something else.

Jean got an ongoing of Scott's latest, death. It did go well for her the last time Scott was alive.

Now, if we want to theorize that Jean was so distraught over Scott's (latest, lol) death that she had an off-panel nervous breakdown which prompted her to make those insane speeches in Red, well, that's for an entirely other discussion and clearly not what spirit2011 was alluding to.

Jean apparently can't live without it being about Cyclops.

Phoenix knows her best, she didn't listen.

Aside from dying from a cloud, the last thing Scott did was hold a peace rally with all remaining mutants, so how is he going to go back to ruining the xmen? I'm pretty sure the xmen dragged his name through the mud, not the other way around.

Either way, I'm pumped for this issue.

That theory was laid out in jest (obviously), but in all seriousness, Jean being depressed as all hell over Resurrection would make for a better-than-what-we've-got explanation as to why she's been trying waaayyyy too hard in X-Men Red.

He died, thus triggering Jean's depression, which in turn led to Jean giving those UN speeches and making the X-Men more hated than evah. Full circle, baby.

It's really too bad the x-office isn't playing those story beats for the laughs. Oh well.

I guess using language to communicate and to be understood reads as trying waaayyyy too hard in a franchise where stabby stabby blasty blasty is the norm. Don't worry, #11 will be out soon!

The really funny thing is that Jean's plan to take out Nate pretty much excluded all the stabbers/blasters in favor of psychic dialogue.

The X-Men are dead and Cassandra Nova is alive.

    Not an optimal status quo.

That's what happens when you take Tom Taylor out of the equation.

If Jean lobotomized Nate, would you start joking that Cyclops is a better parent than Jean?

She should have lobotomized X-Jesus... or at least tried to. The 'I'm your mother' BS wasn't working for like 5 issues at that point. Time for tough love.

The X-Office putting down X-Men Red before it became the new X-Men Gold just might be the best thing that happened to Jean.

Joking? They're pretty much dead even in parental godawfulness, really. The only joke to be made is that these two parental-skills-lacking clowns are perfect for each other.

Yeah, the similarities between the two is beginning to reach mind blowing levels.
