Default Guardians of the Galaxy #1

Art looks good and nice to see so many in one room. Bit sick and tired of Thanos but I’ll see what this has to offer.

I'm calling it now: Adam Warlock is the new Thanos.
DC, please give Jonah Hex a new solo.

I would not be surprised given his actions often lead to more danger.

How did Cosmic Ghost Rider get into 616?

I’d be more than down for a Warlock-centric arc. It feels like this first arc of GotG is kind of Cates doing the obligatory synergy Thanos thing, so I’m hoping the next arc he really cuts loose and does something special.

I think we should be in fear if Cates does anything too weird. The man is killing it right now, that's not up for debate, but he's wading into dangerous waters by going too weird.

Also, I wouldn't mind Gamora being used to do something that awful to Magnus. It'd be horrifying and make whatever happened in that last event maybe mean something.

Although I loathe the thought of Cosmic Ghost Rider, I’m loving everything else I see from him. I hope he builds up a new Cosmic pantheon of books with this run.

Considering the end of an issue of Venom, also written by Cates, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the new Thanos is the Maker(aka ultimate universe Reed Richards)

I just can't see the Maker setting out to be Thanos. He's too concerned about getting symbiotes or something. Plus, given how his powers work, another Maker would just replace the corrupted one. Or all of the Makers would be corrupted...that last one would be bad.

I thought it ended with basically “well my symbiote plan didn’t work, time to look at this screen of cosmic characters.”

Maybe he’s not the new Thanos but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be in this run.

We see at the end of the last Venom issue that he's still interested in Venom.

Of course, given that he seems more interested in how the symbiote hive mind works, this might be about him making more of himself.

It sounds to me like Thanos is, in a sense, trying to resurrect himself, not that someone is really trying to resurrect him. Whoever is doing it might not even realize what they're doing.

Preview looks very good, as far as who will be the new Thanos my top guesses would be Warlock, Nebula or Eros himself.

I have a feeling it might be ISAAC, the sentient world computer from Titan.
