I am so excited about this series, but after seeing how angry people got about how Cates wrote Thanos, I would imagine fans of whichever character becomes the new Thanos will probably be upset too.

I've seen a lot of people on here and twitter saying his Thanos is too much of a thug compared to other versions.

I can’t wait for this series!! We are finally getting a non MCU Guardians of The Galaxy again! Star Lord is one of my favorite marvel characters because of the DNA run but I have not been able to enjoy him at all for the past several years. Looking forward to Cates taking over!

Agreed, really excited for this and can't wait to see Pratt Lord's Walkman get destroyed and we get the real Star-Lord back.

I’m still bitter that Marvel held the last few issues of the Guardians 3000 series hostage in a Secret Wars tie-in TPB. I hope the original Guardians turn up at some point, they were pretty cool in the D&A run.

What ever happened to the Guardians of the Galaxy from the year 3000?

They last had a solo shot a few years back. Title went 8 issues I think.

They are my Guardians of the Galaxy, read their 90s revival run almost entirely.

Would love to see them tried again with a writer who has a strong narrative for them.

Nova isn’t in it. Though Cates has recently tweeted about his omission as if it’s a plot point. Darkhawk is in it. He’s in an incident with several cosmic characters, but I highly doubt any are dead.
