Rob Liefeld project reveal: Major X

Many of us were complaining about alternate u characters, yet here we go again with another one.

And we had enough real characters that could use attention & development without adding in gimmick AU characters.

But as I said on another forum, the X-Office is just jumping from one gimmick to the next for any quick cash grab. Rather than taking time focusing on real character development, interaction, and making said things stick.

I am not a fan of the alternate universe stuff either but this sounds different. If Major X is revealed to be an alternate version of an existing character than that is a waste, but if he is a brand new character, bringing in a brand new element for others to play with in the future, and likely a brand new villain, that is awesome. That is the type of stuff that let's others take those new ideas and do something with other characters.

Besides, none of you want Liefeld touching any of your neglected faves anyway.

All I know is this better be worth it for us having to take the 6 month detour to the Age of X-Man.

Sadly, there's nothing about a time traveling divergent Earth mutant that says original.

Tragically, there's nothing about the name Major X or his costume, or the fact that he's brandishing firearms that says "big ideas, crazy ideas."

Despairingly, Marvel will publish this all the same, instead of putting out a more compelling series with some of our more beloved existing mutants.

I should feel...sad, angry, disappointed, despondent, something...that, so far for 2019, I'm not spending any of my comics budget on X-books but with this Liefeld news, I feel pretty much the same as when they announced Disassembled and AoX...quite apathetic with fleeting moments of happiness.
