Helena Bertinelli, didn't know another Huntress existed while reading stories with her in them.

First was Helena Wayne, Earth 2.

I later heard Mockingbird had been a Huntress at Marvel and tracked down that B&W story.

For those not familiar with it, I did post the first page of that tale earlier in the thread:

Yeah , me too . I'm not really a fan of the Huntress to be honest. I did like the Helena/ Matron from the Grayson series and saw potential there for the character.

    My first introduction...

    HUNTRESS Wonder_Woman_v.1_271.jpg

Then I bought her complete Post-Crisis series, the 2 or 3 limited series, Birds of Prey and the New 52 stuff.

Has she ever had a story or used gadgets that leaned more on her relation to Catwoman than Batman? I remeber the live action BoP Huntress somehow having cat like powers but that doesn't really count. To me the mother/daughter angle should be just as strong if not stronger than the daddy's girl relationship that's mostly pushed in the comics.

That would be the pre-CoIE version (Helena Wayne) from Earth-2, who was killed off towards the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

    Now this gets confusing.
The post-Crisis / pre-Flashpoint Huntress was a new character: Helena Bertinelli, not Helena Wayne.

During the New 52, "Huntress" was back to being a Helena Wayne from Earth 2, but slightly different from the pre-CoIE version of Helena Wayne.

Part of the problem with her leaning more towards her Catwoman side vs. the Batman side was that the pre-CoIE Earth-2 version of Catwoman had been a criminal, but had given up her life of crime after marrying Bruce (and before Helena was born).

And as far as I'm aware, Catwoman has no family ties to Helena Bertinelli / Huntress.

I'm showing my age by admitting it was the Golden Age Huntress that I read first (reprints).

But the one who always will have my heart is the Helena Wayne Huntress.
I'm not at all sure she will get the treatment she deserves.
But hope springs eternal that somehow she will be more than someone on a bench,
who gets a couple of minutes just before the game is called.
