    Default Golden Age Harlequin (Molly Mayne / later Molly Mayne-Scott) Appreciation (2019)

    First appearance: All-American Comics #89 (September 1947).

    and from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe Vol. X (December 1985),

    And while Molly did eventually marry Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern), she was not the birth-mother to his two children (Jade and Obsidian). That was a different costumed villainess.

    Alan Scott had many great villains in the golden age. Most were lost when Green Lantern became a Hal the Space Cop.

    I'm glad Molly is remembered.

    A few pages from that first appearance:

    Sort of a typical Golden Age-type of story:
    * girl meets boy superhero
    * girl falls in love with boy superhero
    * boy superhero doesn't have time for girl because of his superhero-responsibilities
    * girl becomes bad-girl so boy superhero will have time for her

    Harlequin with the Injustice Society . . .

    from History of the DC Universe Book One (1986)
    (NOTE: She had "joined" the 2nd version of the group back in All Star Comics #41, cover-dated June-July 1948.)
