Default Men of the Hour: Rex and Rick Tyler (Hourman) Appreciation (2019)

NOTE: This is a continuation (in part) of the previous "Rex Tyler: GA Hourman Appreciation 2018" thread, which can be read here:but has now been expanded to include Rex's son Rick (Hourman II).
Anyone wishing to discuss "Matthew Tyler", the android Hourman from the 853rd Century, could consider adding to the thread "HOURMAN by Tom Peyer and Rags Morales" (https://community.cbr.com/showthread...d-Rags-Morales).

both of the above from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe Vol. X (December 1985)

My favorite DC superhero (with Wonder Woman only millimeters behind), and my favorite DC superhero costume (with Batman and Hawkman desperately vying for runner up).

This might be an appropriate place to ask this question.
I am a big fan of the New Frontier, which had a brief Hourman appearance.
He was reported to have died in the vignette shown, but I thought he was referenced later as being a prisoner.
    Did I misinterpret something?

I think it was supposed to be a government cover-up so they could experiment on Hourman's Miraclo.

Frontier is correct. We never see Hourman again after the opening scene, and we're never given any word on what condition he's in, but during the attempt to capture Flash, Farraday clearly states that they're planning to put Flash in a cell "next to Tyler."

Question: Was Hourman always superstrong in his earliest appearances in Adventure Comics, or did Miraclo just give him boundless stamina and peak human strength? His appearances in All-Star Comics seemed a bit ambiguous about how powerful he was supposed to be.

As was the case with Wildcat, the first time I read about Hourman (Rex) was in 1972's annual summer team-up of the JLA and JSA, but in Rex's case he was featured (along with Batman and Starman) in Justice League of America #101 (September 1972).

Rex did show up with the original members of the JSA briefly in Doomsday Clock #10, cover-dated July 2019:

but it didn't seem like a really impressive moment for him.

At least he's shown with several other members of the JSA on the cover-image for an upcoming issue of Justice League.
