Cyborg can morph his arms into canons and use them as weapons. I see an analog Cyborg has someone with similar mimicking powers like Vixen or Animal Man. He would look completely human and is able to hack into things not normally associated with the internet-analog things that augment human performance or weakness. I just recently read an article that says bodybuilders are a kind of cyborg. In the early 80s they were the first ones to discover and use growth hormones like creatine, melanotan and bpc peptides. Also a body builder must have perfect symmetry between each muscle groups in there body. So a rebooted Cyborg would align with body builders and have super symmetry within his body. He can hack into things that improve human performance. He can hack into eyeglasses and see objects on the moon. He can eat protein and hack into it's muscle creating abilities and increase his strength. He can hack into a fish's gills and breath underwater. He can hack an ordinary gun and turn bullets into missiles or a nuclear warhead...etc
That's an interesting concept, kinda like a Flex Mentallo meets the Million Dollar Man deal. Iunno how I would feel about that as the main Cyborg but i'd definitely check it out as an Elseworld.

Because that is a literally unbelievable story...at least for a character who is mentally well, and unless it is a full blown comedy or satire.

I will actually go out on a limb and say that Cyborg would have to be mentally ill to want his arms and legs torn off...and in some cases, his penis, and to want to have half his face destroyed.

And that just isn't the character of Victor Stone.
I hate to bring this back up, but this is just another example of someone wanting something from Cyborg that he just isn't.

It's understandable to see him come to some kind of terms with his condition, and even find some perks in it, but I just can't see him initially throwing a party and celebrating that he lost his limbs, face, and in some instances, his manhood.

I'm not saying he wanted his body parts to get torn off. That's NOT WHAT I MEANT AT ALL. He didn't WANT his body parts torn off, but he wanted to get cybernetically amputated. He's telling his dad to save him.

Exactly. And that is what happened to him. No normal person is going to shrug that off and celebrate that they suffered a tragedy that caused them to be turned into a machine man.

I agree that no normal person would want to go through want Cyborg went through but there are some bio hackers and self made cyborgs out there like Neil Harbisson who created the Cyborg Foundation. This foundation donates cyborg antennas to the blind community. It's like an artificial bone implanted in the skull. The dailydot.com has an article about self made cyborgs. One person implanted a npc transponder in their hand with a syringe. She uses it to buy things. Neil Harbisson implanted a camera in his head that lets him translate color with sound. Cyborgs are becoming more common. A site call rightsofcyborgs.com debates if a damage prosthetic should be treated as a personal injury or property damage. There as the recent supreme court decision that blocked cops from breaking into cell phones without a warrant to retrieve data. This is also aligned with cyborg rights.

Cyborg just wants to be saved from having his body parts ripped off and to be turned into a cyborg.

When you think about Cyborg's origin is hack porn. Maybe it's time to change it. Maybe one day as a student on a field trip to a museum a radioactive npc transponder crawls underneath is skin and he becomes Cyborg.

All things being considered, if the accident was unavoidable and I have already experienced it and know that I will need cybernetics to live. Now show me a pic of classic toaster box body Cyborg and tell me this is how I may look me and anyone else alive would be depressed to the point of death. However tell that I functionally have the ability to do continuous upgrades with one of the most advanced computers in the universe, you best believe that I will push to make sure I have something that is close to a human aesthetic while accepting all the physical powers at my command. As humans we all start learning to cope with conditions that lead to disability. I say all this to say that keeping the "outdated" look and the poor cripple attitude has been, and continues to destroy Cyborg as a character.

According to DC, if we get rid of that how would we, the fans, recognize Cyborg? Brand consistency man, BRAND CONSISTENCY!!

YES!! And he could be happy about it and have the ability to change between his cybernetic and human form at will!

Now let's hope they don't screw it up (Patience Phillips, anyone?)

Cyborg is my favorite character and over the last couple of years I begin to wonder why so many people hated him as a character. Now I think it's because some fans think of Black Superheroes as representative avatars of the African American community and black culture as a whole. Some fans preceive Cyborg as someone who doesn't have a penis. Cyborg in Batman v Superman pushed that narrative further. I think this assumption is false because today cosmetic reconstruction is commonplace.

But the perception is out there and this perception is probably one of the reasons why a Cyborg solo series may not sell as well as Black Panther, or Miles Morales. If I was a teenager would I tell my friends that my favorite character is Cyborg- who is perceive by some to be missing his manhood. Will the black comic book community accept Cyborg as the definitive cultural avatar? Probably not because of the simple fact of how Cyborg is perceived.

Knowing this now I'm now kind of okay with John Stewart or Black Lightning as DC's head dawg as far as Black Superheroes because it's unlikely DC will change him.

You make excellent points. That's why the Ivan Reis design excited fans who wanted better for the character. He became a better form and one that I wouldn't mind being for once because he could have more of a life. It opened the door for more of a life that fans could take interest in.

I read Miles and enjoy the other facets his life outside of the mask. I read Batman and the Outsiders for Black Lightning & Signal and enjoy the same. Black Panther. Naomi. Noble. Quincredible. Static's Milestone series still holds a place in my heart.

I would love nothing more for this character than for him to have more of a life to develop on page.

Mr. Bendis? Please save this character from the clutches of the non-fans at DC.

Okay if that was the case why is Cyborg not looking like his Superfriends version? That is the icon version from the Teen Titans and was used on the show.

Also if we go by that logic-a LOT of folks would still look the same. Heck I like the Doom Patrol version of Cyborg's outfit.
There is a REASON you have 2 action figures of Burnside Batgirl-that was a look folks LOVED.
Lets not forget STORM-PICK an outfit. You can't got wrong with the 1975 version, Punk version, 90s cartoon or her current.
Wolverine-pick one. He got too many.
Static-there is a reason no remembers his FIRST outfit. He stays in that cartoon outfit for a reason.
The ONE exception is Jessica Drew. You can't TOP her original outfit.

He's telling his dad to save him.
Technology ADVANCES. He is suppose to do the same.

Most comic book stores will tell you-he's a HARD sell. I know one store that did not order his book because no one would buy it. With the way he is now-you can't sell him.
Especially when you have a CERTAIN segment that thinks he's PERFECT because he doesn't have the so-called SJW crap around him like Riri or Miles.

Translated they like him because he does not have this-
I read Miles and enjoy the other facets his life outside of the mask.
All the books they hate (or don't buy) showcase a fully developed character of color.
Showing the PRIVATE life is what made Peter Parker and others. Once upon a time you saw that in Batman books and those were some good READS.

What would Cyborgs life look like outside of heroics I wonder? Coaching? Some type of research and development? Personal Trainer maybe?
Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
    DC: Currently figuring that out
    Marvel: Read above
    Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8
