Arizona was hoping to get its offensive line fixed for 2019. In fact last year a big issue was just how bad the offensive line was and it impacted things for a rookie QB forced into starting in Rosen. Anyhow in todays news , things got a bit worse. They had signed Desmond Harrison off waivers in June from Cleveland who started 8 games for the Browns in 2018 at offensive tackle. Today he was released after a felony warrant for his arrest was issued for domestic violence. He was released pretty quick.

    In NFL News ...

    - The NFL concluded their Investigation into Tyreek Hill and said that after 4 months they can find no evidence he violated the NFL's conduct policy. The league waited and worked to not get in the way of the state investigation into Hill. In fact here is the full statement.

The league issued the following statement:

"Over the past four months, we have conducted a comprehensive investigation of allegations regarding Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Throughout this investigation, the NFL's primary concern has been the well-being of the child. Our understanding is that the child is safe and that the child's ongoing care is being directed and monitored by the Johnson County District Court and the Johnson County Department for Children and Families.

"In conducting our investigation, we have taken great care to ensure that we do not interfere with the county's proceedings or compromise the privacy or welfare of the child in any way. The information developed in the court proceeding is confidential and has not been shared with us, and the court has sealed all law enforcement records. Local law enforcement authorities have publicly advised that the available evidence does not permit them to determine who caused the child's injuries.

"Similarly, based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy. Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City's training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention.

"If further information becomes available through law enforcement, the pending court proceeding, or other sources, we will promptly consider it and take all appropriate steps at that time."
This allows Hill to return to the Chiefs who also said they will continue to monitor any developments in the case if it unfolds.

    - Green Bay's general manager told in a radio interview that the Packers were aggressive in trying to trade for Khali Mack last year. But the Raiders likely figured that the Packers would have a better record than the Bears . So they ended up getting Mack. Of course a report came out that the Packers offered only 1 , 1st rd draft pick and a load of picks after it. Chicago meanwhile offered the 2 , 1st rd picks.

    - Darren Sproles signed a 1 year deal to return to the Eagles for 1 last season. Sproles joins a very deep RB room as the Eagles have a lot of options in 2019.

Even if the NFL considered the evidence conclusive, that went over like a fart in a church.

Meanwhile, the NFL believes putting governors on players, not expanding the rosters, is what needs to be done for an 18 game season, based on their latest proposal.

Screw football, I'm more concerned for those children. They don't seem safe with either parent.

Hill is the type of guy that I will very much wish injury on this season.

Bigger rosters means bigger payroll. Can't have that.

Now they're back to hoping D.J. Humphries stays healthy, and crossing their fingers.

A big issue is without any charges made (the state dropped its investigation due to lack of evidence...twice) the league had nothing to go on. They were looking into it as well but detailed they were making sure to not get in the way of the state possibly looking to press charges. The Chiefs were waiting to see what the investigation by both would do because they were in a spot where they told Hill to stay away but couldn't release him without cause.

Because the NFLPA would have jumped in quick the moment Hill was suspended or released by the Chiefs without proof he did do a crime. The league also had they delivered punishment the NFLPA would have stepped in just as quick.

The only solace thus far is Hill won't get paid the $100 million contract and now the Chiefs can basically tie whatever deal he later gets into conduct clauses etc if he does get in trouble. So they can cut him with no salary cap hit.

Its being reported Tom Brady is entering a weird situation he's never faced before in his 20 year career. Brady will be entering his final season of a contract for the 1st time. Its unique as Brady will be 42 and no QB has ever hit that mark before and had this come up. But as NFL experts believe the Patriots will get his extension done for 2-3 more seasons by the end of summer. As not many believe that they will let him go into free agency.

Tyreek Hill (which we can debate if he'll be a long term star or not given his off field issues) was a 5th rd pick. Many questioned KC for taking Hill and how his game would translate to NFL. Some scouts was afraid of Pat Mahomes given how he was a Brett Farve type who while having HUGE upside was a risk to throw an Int in believing in his arm way , way too much.

The Chiefs offense was built slowly over 4+ seasons. Arizona can't expect Kyler Murray to become the next Mahomes off the bat. Hell KC didn't expect it and made Mahomes sit and watch a season to learn. But all the pieces were built around Mahomes already. Here Arizona has to hope Murray can do it as a rookie ASAP.

At Brady's age the contract might be best served by being a series of one year options. He's held off Father Time admirably, but age IS undefeated. Max Haterman will eventually be right about that cliff, even if I am hoping for it to take another few years.

    Hilariously brutal.

It's been said the main reason Brady is still around at 42 is because he hasn't lost his legs, only suffering one serious knee injury during the length of his long career. But yeah, Father Time is patiently counting the days, not even Tom Terrific can keep the magic going forever.

Murray would have been an instant hero with the A's, would have a breakout season or two, then go to a true contender and make the big bucks and probably have a glorious career. Instead he's the protagonist in the Cardinals' latest tale of woe.

Montana made it quite a few years after losing his legs, and did really well. Brady's got at least a 2-3 year extension in him, if thats any kind of example. Both men have similar mindsets when it comes to football.

Perhaps Murray figured he'd reach stardom faster in football rather than deal with the slings and arrows of getting embarrassed by off-speed pitches which makes fools out of every young phenom who plays baseball.

Quite true. I wonder if Brady wants to equal George Blanda who, if memory serves, retired at 46.
