Major X feels like another Fantomex to me. But maybe even with less staying power, as a number of writers have wanted to use him, and did use him, after Morrison left. Some even very well, such as Remender in Uncanny X-Force Volume 1.

Again, though, depends on who he is under the helmet and how interesting he is, both characterwise and in terms of power set.

Exactly why I was expecting something else to get the hype this is getting. This would have been a great opportunity.

Based on some of the reactions Betsy/Blob is getting here and elsewhere, I suspect suggesting that an obese person might be worthy of love - let alone the attentions of someone majorly hot - is getting a stronger response from the readership than pairing up two conventionally attractive dudes would have. Maybe not the best subversion of the whole "forbidden" love idea on its face (there's a big gap between "ridiculed" and "actually illegal"), but I'm willing to see where Williams goes with this wrt the rest of the cast.

My interest in X-Force is being tested. I LOVE the 90s, but I loved the 90s because it was not a rehash of stories/villains from the 70s. Give us something new, oh, what's that?

I have nothing against PsyBlob but the “conventionally attractive woman falls for an unconventional man” story has been done a thousand times. Also, why not Northstar and Blob? This is an AU so literally why not.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing queerness central in the second last issue of the mini lol.
