    Incredible Hulk #172 Feb 1974
    And Canst Thou Slay... the Juggernaut?
    Hulk has been captured and put in a holding cell at Hulkbuster base;
    As he is quickly dismantling the walls of his prison, Armbruster calls on Peter Corbeau who brings a ray to teleport the Hulk to another dimension;
    Hulk is blasted away but the Hulkbusters find themselves facing the Juggernaut in his place;
    When they try to use the ray again, the Hulk returns as well


    and the two powerhouses quickly bust out and get away;
    Hulk quickly finds he does not like his new ally and the two battle;
    The X-Men show up to capture Juggernaut but allow the Hulk to escape.

    Appearances by the X-Men (Professor X, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl in a crossover with Avengers 111), plus cameos by Doctor Strange, the Angel, the Beast, and Iceman.

    I really wish the time-displaced 05 got to wear their original costumes longer. There's just something great about that juxtaposition of old vs. the threats of the 2010s -- even Earth-616's final battle at the start of Secret Wars.

    They did go through costumes didn't they? Four costumes in six years - five for Angel, who got a new one when he acquired his cosmic wings, which didn't even last one TPB (Black Vortex was literally immediately before Secret Wars).

    First #1 I ever bought. Simonson's work on Inferno was amazing.
