    Conclusion of Angel's origin
    The Flying A-Bomb! from Uncanny X-Men #56
    Continued from last issue...

Cyclops and Iceman's attempt to recruit the Avenging Angel into the X-Men
has hit a snag when the egotistical loner suddenly attacks them in his apartment.

As the two young mutants try to stop the fight, the Professor monitors the situation with his mental powers.
Although the two X-Men have ranged mutant abilities, they are no match for Warren's fighting skill.
Attempting to seek an end to the fight, the Professor telepathically
contacts Warren and explains the situation, calming the young mutant down.

However, the Professor also detects another danger, the cylinder of a new
radioactive isotope that the Avenging Angel has relinquished from some thieves.
Somehow the isotope has become active while being in contact with the
Avenging Angel's mutant biology and is about to explode at any moment.
Realizing that only extreme cold will stop it, Warren suddenly flies up high into the sky to prevent a potential explosion from harming anyone.

In the freezing cold of the upper atmosphere, Warren breaks open the cylinder and the radioactive material is rendered harmless by the cold.
The Avenging Angel blacks out from the cold and lack of oxygen, however revives just in time to pull out of his free fall.

Returning to the X-Men, he agrees to meet with the Professor and join their ranks as the Angel.

Nice to read that Hank McCoy the Beastie Boy was the first comicbook character, to refer to them comicbook characters Cap, IM and Thor as the "Big Three" .

    X-Factor #40 May 1989
    "Dust to Dust!"
Following the funeral of Madelyne Pryor, which the members of X-Factor are the only attendees of, the group decides to
head back to their Ship in order to organize the task of returning all the mutant children stolen during the Inferno crisis.

Unknown to them they are being monitored by the Orphan Maker and Nanny,
who seek to capture the children and make them new additions to their Lost Boys (and Girls).

When X-Factor would return to their ship, they would reunite with their students
the so-called X-Terminators, Marvel Girl's parents and young Christopher Summers.
The Grey's are enchanted by the young boy, and since his mother was a clone
of their daughter, they have taken to the lad like he is their natural grandson.
Cyclops meets with Artie, Leech and young Taki and learn that the children want to return to St. Simon
and continue their educations, and Scott sees them off in a ship to send them back to the private school.
As they leave the scene, Nanny and Orphan Maker prepare to make a strike on X-Factor in order to capture the children.

Aboard the ship, the remaining members of the X-Terminators help X-Factor load up a ship with the 13 mutant babies
they rescued from the demons during Inferno so that they can be reunited with their parents in Washington D.C.
As they load up the children Skids, Boom-Boom and Rictor are happy to learn that due to their adventures as the X-Terminators
they missed enough of their summer classes that there is no point in them returning until regular school resumes in the fall.
As X-Factor prepares to leave, Beast tells Rusty that they will discuss his current legal woes and try to get him a pardon.
Scott and Jean leave young Christopher with Jean's parents while they leave, unaware that they are being followed by Nanny's ship.

Aboard X-Factor's vessels, Marvel Girl remarks how quickly they were able to find the children's parents
and wonders what their lives will be like when they get older and their mutant powers manifest.
As they reach Washington, their ship is grabbed by Nanny's craft and the two baby-nappers board the ship.
As X-Factor deals with Orphan Maker, Archangel, assuming that Nanny is really a robot
slices her with his metal wings causing her to scream in pain and lose control of her craft.
After MG uses her telekinisis to make them land safely, they learn from Orphan Maker that Nanny built mutant detective devices for the Right,

and when they found out that she too was a mutant locked her in the cyborg shell that she is now stuck in and forced her to hunt mutants.
She managed to break free from their control and met the young boy who would become Orphan Maker
and the two would seek out mutant children to collect and protect as their Lost Boys (and Girls).

Demanding her niece and nephew back, MG would use her powers to tear
open part of Nanny's ship revealing both children in suspended animation.
As MG frees them, Nanny and Orphan Maker decide to accept their losses and teleport away.
MG is horrified to find that her niece and nephew have been brainwashed not to remember her at all.
When they turn the stolen babies over to Freedom Force, Mystique informs X-Factor that the government
has decided to release Rusty Collins into X-Factor's protective custody until it is time for him to go to trail.

When X-Factor returns to their ship, Jean is surprised to find that her sisters children still remember who their grandparents are,
and explains to them that they were manipulated by Nanny. When Jean's parents suggest taking the children home with them, Jean agrees
-- thinking that after their ordeal with Nanny and Orphan Maker, the two children need a home where they can grow up living a normal life.

What are the odds of seeing the Original 5 in Action during Hickman’s Run? Even if as guest stars in say Spider-Man or Avengers.....or even Fantastic Four (where Iceman was somehow a member of)

Jean, Scott and Warren are featured on a cover together so we at least have 3 out of the 5.

I think this may be the closest we get outside of some flashbacks to the O5 days

Iceman and Beast likely will appear in this but I doubt it will be together with all 5 members as the O5. It'll probably be like X-men (1991) 1-3. All the characters are present for the story but not together. The main caveat though is that if there is some big retcon that harkens back to the origins of the X-men, we may get them together reacting to Xavier's latest deception

I don't think we will get the O5 on the same team on the books for a long time.

    Uncanny X-Men #57 Jun 1969
First appearance of Larry Trask in ""The Sentinels Live!"
New York City: Lorna Dane has settled into a new apartment and is still trying to adjust to the fact that she is
a mutant with magnetic powers when she is suddenly attacked and captured by the mutant hunting Sentinels.

While in Egypt, the X-Men attempt to calm down Cyclops' brother Alex Summers, who is horrified by the destructive force of his mutant powers,
of which he fears that he has little control over. Alex explains that his powers where what destroyed the Egyptian temple
that was the Living Monolith's temple, causing the Monolith to be reverted to ordinary Ahmet Abdol, a simple archeologist.
When authorities arrive, the X-Men attempt to turn Abdol over to them. However Abdol's notoriety in the area as an
archeologist allows Abdol to turn the tables and demand that the police arrest Alex instead for destroying
his archeological dig. When they attempt to arrest Alex, the young mutant panics and fires a plasma blast from his hands at the soldiers.
The X-Men then intervene while Alex flees into the desert. Furious over the situation,
Cyclops and the other X-Men easily defeat the officers and chase after Alex in their jet-car.

The X-Men pass a cavern, unaware that is where Alex has gone to hide and lament over his unstable powers.
Alex's worries are short lived when a new menace appears, another Sentinel that easily captures the confused mutant.
As the X-Men continue their search, they are alerted by Cerebro that someone had attacked Lorna Dane's apartment.
Worried over his love interest, Iceman convinces Scott to allow him and Beast return to the United States
and investigate Lorna's disappearance while the others continue their search for Alex in Egypt,
unaware that the mastermind behind the Sentinel's resurrection is well aware of their splitting up and hopes to use it to his benefit.

Arriving in New York, Iceman and Beast search Lorna's apartment for clues.
However they are interrupted by the police who think that they are involved.
Trying to escape, Beast almost falls from the apartment building to a nasty death on the pavement below when one
of the officers on the scene tosses a chair at him and Bobby, knocking them both out the broken apartment window.
However, Iceman manages to save them and the two mutants decide to escape to Scott's apartment

and see if they can find any information about the attack on the news. They happen upon a news program where Federal Judge Robert Chalmers
is denouncing mutants as a menace on national television. With him is Larry Trask, the son of Bolivar Trask the Sentinel's original creator.
Trask has appeared on the news blaming mutants for his father's death.

He would go on and explain that he was present when his father built his first Sentinel's before going off to College.
Upon his return he was horrified to find that his father was killed during a battle between the X-Men and the Sentinels.

Having kept a dossier on mutants over the years to prove his claims and with recent reports of the X-Men's battle with Egyptian
authorities he proclaims to the television audience that the mutant menace will be eliminated and that the Sentinels live again.

As Bobby and Hank watch this startling development, they are completely unaware that a Sentinel
has tracked them down and is peering into Scott's apartment, poised to strike any moment.

Script by Roy Thomas, pencils by Neal Adams, inks by Tom Palmer
