Default What is your favorite Marvel art from the now retired George Pérez?

As reported by CBR and elsewhere some days ago, legendary artist George Pérez has formally retired from comics. While DC titles New Teen Titans and Wonder Woman are his most noted runs, he also worked on Marvel titles like Fantastic Four and Avengers.

So what is your favorite Marvel work by Pérez? Mine is not exclusively Marvel, but JLA/Avengers is his modern magnus opus.

To this day my two favorite issues drawn by Mr. Perez are:

Fantastic Four #176. My first ever issue of the FF.

And Avengers #160. My second issue of the Avengers

I have to agree with OP, as much as I loved his work on Busiek's Avengers, his JLA/Avengers was his top work. I think in all honesty, with all of the absolutely fantastic artists that Marvel has had over the years, Perez is probably my #1 favorite artist, even over John Byrne. There was so much detail GP put into every panel of his work, not to say that other artists didn't also go into detail but GP was a whole extra level of detail. Sad to hear he is retiring, but by gods he has earned it.

    Avengers
(In particular, his run from the '70s to the '80s)

    Man-Wolf/StarGod
(from urban horror to sword & Sorcery, highly recommended)

    OG JLA/Avengers
(Sadly, the '80s version will never be released to the general public)

That Superman holding Thor's hammer and Cap's shield has always been one of my favorite Epic pictures.

While nothing can stand against Avengers/JLA for sure scale of the story and being one of George's long term goals, I think my favorite of his work would also be his run on the main Avengers title.

I preferred his earlier 1970s work on the Avengers book.

One thing I loved about him was that he put in a lot of detail, but he still made them all look like supeheroes. It wasn't like a lot of modern artists who think detail means you have to dress everyone in tactical gear and give then a dull color scheme.

Tough to say which stories were the best from such a great artist as George Perez but from what i read :

.Infinity Gauntlet.(Issue one to three in the interior art and the covers of all the limited series)

    .Avengers #1 (Vol.3)

    .Avengers (Vol.1)The Korvac Saga.

    .Hulk:Future Imperfect.
