    Sensational She-Hulk #32 Oct 1991

"The Hills Have Eyes, And Mouths And Ears (And Maybe Noses...)"
Weezi is looking down into the giant hole and calling Jen's name. Professor Robertson tells her
not to bother - his sensors say the hole is at least 50 miles deep! Weezi is afraid that She-Hulk
    can't survive a fall like that, but Robertson points out that she might not have fallen the full distance;
he tells her that the walls of the bore have ledges and outcroppings that could have broken her fall. In
order to go after her, and Spragg, Robertson brings out his Mecha-Mole, a large armored underground vehicle!

Meanwhile, She-Hulk is still falling. She wonders why she hasn't noticed an increase in pressure as she gets
closer to the centre of the Earth. Then she notices that it is getting brighter and suddenly she plunges into water!
Once she gets her bearings and resurfaces, she finds a jungle! It reminds her of the Savage Land, but that isn't
underground, or in this area of the world. As she looks around, she discovers what appears to be a dinosaur!
Reacting instinctively, She-Hulk knocks it out with a single punch. Then she gets a better look at it,

and realizes that it isn't a dinosaur; it is just a big lizard with fake fins stuck on it.
Then the Mole Man ambushes She-Hulk from behind! He zaps her with the electro blast from his staff
before she can see who is there. Then he orders his Moloids to take her to the "chamber of transfiguration"!

Weezi and Professor Robertson drill their way underground inside the Mecha-Mole. As they go,
Robertson recaps his origin story of Spragg, to remind Weezi of what they are dealing with.
Suddenly Robertson loses control of the vehicle. Spragg has telekinetically taken control!
The vehicle punches through the rock wall, and suddenly they are falling into a cavern!
Robertson deploys the wings, and manages to regain control. Weezi is astonished
that such tiny little wings are capable of holding up a two ton machine.

Spragg resumes his attacks by telekinetically bombarding them with rocks! Robertson uses
evasive maneuvers, but then crashes into a pillar of rock that Spragg forms in their path!

The Mecha-Mole crashes, and although Weezi and Robertson are unharmed, they need to evacuate
since the fuel tanks are leaking. They go outside, and are surrounded by an army of Spragg's brethren!

Meanwhile, She-Hulk is hanging upside down above a vat of some unknown liquid. She-Hulk asks Mole Man if
they can talk about this, but he believes that she has invaded his kingdom, and doesn't want to listen to her "lies".
Jen explains that she only came down here to fight a bad guy who is probably a threat to him as well.
She points out that she can't do anything to stop him while she is hanging above this glop.

Mole Man reveals that the "glop" is the residue from melting his magic diamonds. While examining the Valley of Diamonds,
he discovered that they were supernatural in origin. When exposed to certain ultrasonic frequencies, the diamonds "sweat",
and produced that liquid. He collected a huge vat of it, hoping to make a weapon of it. Then, one day, one of his subjects
fell into the vat. They pulled her out, to find that a shell of the hardened fluid had formed around the woman, but when it
was broken open, she had become a beautiful woman! Mole Man concluded that the fluid transforms someone into the exact
opposite of what he or she had been. He threatens to immerse her in the fluid, and expects that a beautiful woman like her
will be changed into something grotesque. Having heard all she needed to, She-Hulk easily frees herself from her bonds,

and swings over the vat. She then grabs a hold of Mole Man before he can escape, and snatches his staff away from him.
She then tries to convince him to help her fight Spragg. As soon as he hears that Spragg is her enemy, he
agrees to help… for a price! Jen says she doesn't have time to negotiate, and agrees to whatever he wants.

Suddenly, the ground starts to shake, and another ridge begins to jut out of the ground.
Mole Man tries to make a run for it, but more rock formations appear to block his path.
Spragg then emerges from the ground, and tells them that there is no escape!!

Script and pencils by John Byrne, inks by Keith Williams

    but fun to read though.

    "Mole and Wife"
She-Hulk punches Spragg in the face, shattering part of him, and causing him pain.

However, he then reforms himself into a giant humanoid shape to battle She-Hulk more directly!
Mole Man summons some of his own rock creatures to battle Spragg, but they are easily defeated.
She-Hulk prepares to go back and face Spragg herself.
Mole Man says she must be mad since Spragg will destroy her.

The argument is rendered moot when Weezi and Professor Robertson arrive along with more of Spragg's people!
At first Jen is worried that this is making matters worse, but Weezi assures her that these guys are on their side.
Weezi explains that most of the Hill People are actually quiet and peaceful and that Spragg was always an outcast.
When they learned about the problems Spragg was causing now, they volunteered to help.
The other Hill People surround Spragg, trapping him by racing around him in circles.
She-Hulk points out that just surrounding him won't stop him,
since he can zap his living energy into another rock strata.
Mole Man says he has already taken care of that.

The area where they are is situated is over an acceleration point in Earth's geodynamic circulation.
He is going to manipulate that to create a massive eruption that
will blast the whole area, and all the Hill People, into space!
Weezi says that he can't do that without giving the good rocks a chance to get to safety.
Mole Man says he would gladly sacrifice thousands of the creatures if it meant disposing of Spragg!
Moments later the eruption occurs, blasting Spragg and the Hill People into space!
A bunch of Moloids carry Weezi away, and Mole Man says they are taking her to safety.
She-Hulk is angry that Mole Man would do that to the Hill People who were trying to help him.
Robertson reminds her that the Hill People were formed by spores from space, so they will probably be okay.
Jen points out that evolutionary theory says that human's ancestors came from the sea, but that
doesn't make humans any more capable of breathing under water. Mole Man says it doesn't matter…
he helped her dispose of Spragg like he said he would, so now she has to honor her part of the bargain.
She-Hulk asks what the price is. Mole Man smiles, "I wish only that you become my bride!"

Elsewhere, a young family is in their car, when suddenly they are approached by a group of zombies!
The family screams as the undead march closer to their car!

Back underground, Jennifer has changed into the wedding gown. She is trying to figure out a way to
get out of marrying the Mole Man, without breaking her word. Unfortunately, she can't think of any.
One of her assigned bridesmaids is Gertrude, the woman who fell into the mystic goop
and became beautiful. Gertrude tells Jen that she doesn't feel like she was changed into her opposite.
She feels the way she has always felt, deep down inside. Seeing no other options,
Jen goes to the wedding chapel. However, she is surprised that Weezi is nowhere to be seen.

Mole Man stammers out an excuse that Weezi had urgent business on the surface and had to leave, but Jen isn't buying it.
She screams in his face "WHERE'S WEEZI?!" Robertson calls out, saying he's found her. She-Hulk goes to investigate,
dragging Mole Man along by his cape. She finds Weezi tied up, dangling over the vat of mystic fluid!
Mole Man says it was insurance, to make sure she kept her word. She-Hulk tosses him aside, reminding
him that the main ingredient of a successful marriage is trust! She goes to free Weezi, but Mole Man zaps
her with his staff, ranting about how she has "betrayed" him, just like everyone else from the surface.

Mole Man runs up and leaps into the vat… taking Weezi along with him.
He doesn't know what manner of creature he'll turn into,
but is sure that his opposite must be something huge and powerful.
She-Hulk dives in after them to save Weezi! Robertson watches in horror,
wondering what She-Hulk will be turned into. Moments later,
Jen punches her way through the side of the vat and has not been affected!
She is carrying the cocoon with Weezi inside. Jen explains that Mole Man's
prejudices made him jump to the wrong conclusion about that the fluid does.
It doesn't turn people into their opposites, it turns them into what they really are, deep down inside.
That is why it didn't affect her, her gamma radiation had already released her innermost self.

Jen smashes the cocoon, and we find that Weezi has been rejuvenated! They look around, but there is
no sign of the Mole Man, and they don't find any crystal pieces which are large enough to hold a man.
They assume that he must have had an escape route planned, rather than actually exposing himself to
the glop. As they climb back to the surface, one of the small crystals cracks open, and a mole crawls out!

Script and pencils by John Byrne, inks by Keith Williams

The problem with "The She Hulk Problem" is it's stasis. Male heroes get power creeps/upgrades all the time. She Hulk deserves this as well. And yeah, she should look bigger and stronger, not simply a taller Gamora.
The gamma radiation had released the comicbook character Jennifer Walter's innermost self the very first time said comicbook character transformed into She-Hulk.
IMO they got it right from the get-go! It has never been broken so there has never been need for fixing.

    Sensational She-Hulk #34 Dec 1991
"Who Was That Zombie I Saw You With...?"
She-Hulk and Weezi are relaxing on the beach, when they are interrupted by a man with a telegraph.
It is from Blake Tower, summoning them back to New York to deal with an unusual case.

When they return to New York, Tower informs them of the special circumstances.
There was a murder committed by a man who has been dead for 8 years!
Jen asks if there was a motive for the killing, and Tower tells her that
about nine years ago, the killer was financially ruined by the victim.
The killer threatened revenge...shortly before he committed suicide.
Tower takes them to see the accused... who is a rotting corpse!

Next thing we see is Jen jolting awake, back in her apartment.
She relaxes, and assumes that the previous scene was just a dream.
Moments later the phone rings with a call from Weezi. Jen tries to tell
her about her weird "dream", but Weezi assures her that it was all real.
Weezi says that she has tracked down an expert for Jen to consult with.
Jen wonders if it is Dr. Drumm aka Brother Voodoo but Weezi says
it is a guy named Samuel D. Barone, who is based in New Orleans.

She-Hulk picks up Weezi and they fly to New Orleans to meet Barone.
They arrive at the address and enter the building, which they are
shocked to find is larger on the inside than the outside.
Jen and Weezi enter an endless hallway, with many of different doors.
Weezi wonders which one leads to Barone; Jen says she would bet that they all do.

She opens a door, and there is Barone. He congratulates Jen on passing the first test, and introduces himself.
He welcomes the ladies, and instructs his huge out of proportion
nearly-naked servant Garth to bring chairs for them.
Barone asks what brings them here, and they tell him that they are looking for his
assistance with a case back in New York involving a corpse named Joe DeCosta.
Barone recognizes the name, "Ah! So *that's* where he went!"

Meanwhile, in an divergent future timeline, the brutish Mahkizmo looks
around at this world where men and women co-exist in perfect harmony.
He is disgusted by this, since he feels that women should never be treated as
equals to men. He confronts his scientist and asks if he has finished his task yet.
The scientist says he has, but he tries to caution Mahkizmo about the space-time continuum.
Mahkizmo brushes the old man aside, ignoring his concerns,
and gloats that his master plan is about to commence!

Back in New Orleans, Barone is leading Jen and Weezi to a mausoleum to find DeCosta's tomb.
Garth opens it, and inside they find the necklace of bitter herbs and chicken bones
which Barone explains is used to restrain a zombie after it has been restored to "life".

Barone then tosses the necklace around She-Hulk's neck, putting her into a trance!
He then orders Garth to seize Weezi. Barone comments on how he placed a secondary
spell on all his zombies, which compels people who survive an encounter with them to
contact him which is what drew Jen and Weezi to him before they could disrupt his plan.
Barone then strips off his suit to reveal his costume underneath… he is the Black Talon!
That night, Black Talon has She-Hulk help in the final stages of his scheme.
Over the last several months, he has arranged to have the corpses of four
particular people shipped to New Orleans. The last of them has now arrived.
He has She-Hulk break into the cargo hold

    and bring him the casket.

They then take the casket back to where he has the other three
and where Garth is guarding Weezi, who is tied to a post.
Weezi calls out to Jen, saying it is time for her to stop pretending to be under Black Talon's control
and reveal she was just playing along. Unfortunately, She-Hulk truly is under Black Talon's power.

He orders her and Garth to push the displaced soil back over top of the freshly dug graves.
While doing so, the necklace gets caught on a branch sticking out of the ground!
It snaps off, and She-Hulk is free from the spell! She
instantly recognizes Black Talon as an old Avengers foe.
She attacks, but Talon orders Garth to defend him.
Garth is strong, but he is no match for She-Hulk, who
uses his tiny head like a little punching bag for a minute

    and then knocks him out.

Script and pencils by John Byrne, inks by Keith Williams
It will probably be a long while before we get the Jennifer who looks good and kicked ass while doing so before looking at the reader with some witty comment right before the chapter ended.
Is to be fun in live action as well.
