Ugh, why did they have to get Land for this cover?
Sadly, Sue has not really had a rival since Madam Medusa left the Frightful Four back in 1965. I do not know why Marvel has not created a new female rival for her.

I would love a solo/mini for Sue that kind of follows on the tone of what Hickman did with her as the Ambassador to the Uhari, but take it out into space as a sort of peace keeping Ambassador of the Super Humans of Earth - since Marvel is so keen on cosmic these days. I would like Marvel to really position her as the most respected and highly revered maternal presence among the earth bound heroes. Really play up that First Family, First Lady of the Marvel U aspect.

The only one that comes to mind is briefly, the Warrior Queen Dorma was a rival of Sue's and they fought in FF #30 vol 3 as I recall. In a bit of tangled relationships, Queen Dorma was a doppleganger from Franklin's HR planet, later named Planet Doom when Doom was stranded there and later conquered it. Doom started recruiting some of the more powerful entities there for his generals in preparation for his return to Earth. Queen Dorma was one of them and she was attracted to Victor but probably would also have had no problem offing him for a power grab too. When they came to Earth things got a bit confusing. When Reed and Victor helped defeat the Dreaming Celestial, he punished them by swapping bodies. Reed was trapped in Doom's armor on Earth and Victor was sent back to Planet Doom. He had to keep up the charade to keep the Generals in line and then, as Doom, he married Sue. Dorma became jealous and hated Sue for it.

I thought she made an interesting new take on an older character but I think I read somewhere that she was killed in a Thunderbolts story.

While at Forbidden Planet in London last week, I found a great Invisible Woman hard cover. It contains the story of how she went from "Invisible Girl" to "Invisible Woman" and has some cool bonus material. I am having trouble with the image, so here's a link to one on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVELS-MIGH...item5b0400d44e

Does anyone know what her fields can and can not block? Like are they able to magic or not?

Best image of Susan Storm, handsdown:

It nails her powerset and personality 100%.

We do not know for certain what her fields can and cannot block. However, it has been demonstrated at least twice that heat can force the oxygen out of Sue's force bubble and thus make her lower her field in order to breathe. (Reference FF #306 with Diablo and his elementals and FF #332 with Crystal, when she defeated Sue in their imaginary fight.) It is unknown if magic can defeat Sue's force field, but one would think that powerful enough magic might be able to do so.

the usual suspects, lol. Any female image that isn't burka-draped is "porn" to these folks.

Sue was able to block Jean's TK when she first emerged from her cocoon in Fantastic Four #286.

Wasn't she shielding almost all of New York in that last big battle in Hickman's run? I gotta find those pages.

Here's another nice variant cover featuring Sue
