POLL: Your thoughts on the Annual?

Figured we would get some numbers to see how the site at large feels about the latest Annual, since most of the review thread are people yelling past each other.

I personally dislike the Annual, both for having Scott come off as simply giving in to all of the false critcisms about him over the last decade, and for ensuring that the only thing anyone remembers about IvX is Marvel throwing Emma in front of a train.

What are your thoughts?

He was just honest due to the quality of the book.

I'm torn with I'm glad that Scott is back and wth is this bad charcterzation of him. But I went with the later because I have enough of the bad writing in the X-Book (well I was already saying that 4 years ago... sadly)

I voted for liking it. A few reasons:

1. Scott is back.
2. The story, when taken as a whole was well done IMO.
3. There are some unsavory moment's in the story, but they're a very small part of it.

Marvel finally got Scott to agree with their narrative. I wish it wasn't so open and shut, but maybe this whole things goes away now which would be great.

I didn't appreciate the gratuitous shots at Emma. The story didn't need it and wasn't enhanced because of it. At least it wasn't Scott saying it. Who cares what Kid Cable thinks anyway.

While I'm happy Scott is back and with a decent resurrection, I'm not happy with the way they did Emma. It's too early to tell how Scott will actually react but I went with dislike:Emma just because I felt it was an unnecessary jab. Liked the issue overall, but I can't help but wonder why that section needed to be included.

I liked it. I wasn't a fan of some of the developments done to this character, i prefer an heroic version instead of an antihero
I loved that Scott's return was tied to Jean and Cable.
now he can earn redemption

Good point. The art was excellent throughout. That's not something you can say about a lot of the issues we've had this year. Thinking back to the Red Annual and the Astonishing Annual, neither of them suited my tastes. Gomez nailed this for me though, just like Larraz did in Extermination.
