Default OFFICIAL: CW has rewnwed SIX Comic Book shows!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the CW has already renewed the following series for the 2019-2020 TV season:

    1. Arrow Season 8
    2. Flash Season 6
    3. DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5
    4. Supergirl Season 5
    5. Black Lightning Season 3
    6. Riverdale Season 4

    Other renewals:
    1. Charmed
    2. Dynasty
    3. Legacies
    4. Supernatural

It was also reported that Batwoman and Katy Keene (a Riverdale spinoff) could also find their way onto the schedule.

Looks like iZombie will be the only DC show not coming back after this season, but it was already announced that it would be ending. The same holds true for Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Still on the bubble are The 100, Roswell, All American and the yet-to-premiere In the Dark.

Good news for Comics-on-TV fans as all our shows are getting renewed and we might be getting a couple of more in the bargain!

As stated in another thread, it is my hope that knowing about the renewal way in advance I hope that can lead to tighter planning and plot organization especially with Crisis coming. Hopefully they Legends will be where they belong in the crossover as well.

CW seems to have a history of announcing their renewals early, and I agree that it is necessary to give the writers enough lead time because many of their shows are written as season arcs.

I haven't really thought about where Legends of Tomorrow fits in to the next Crossover given that it was deliberately left out of this season's, but I agree that a story as expansive as Crisis should involve the LOT.

Given that the story centers on the destruction of space-time, it might even work out that the Legends play a pivotal role in the whole thing, which might elevate their show from its seeming also-ran status in the Arrowverse.

I would’ve been more excited about this news a few years ago, but i’ve Pretty much lost interest in all the CW shows; too much politics and personal drama, not enough superheroics. Even legends is starting to lose my interest.

Setting aside any feelings someone might have about the show, it's got way more solid material left than most shows with half as many seasons behind them.

How is Legends of Tomorrow still around ? I think we could have much better show than it around like a Justice League International or JSA

Same. I haven't even finished Supergirl s2 or Flash s4, I've seen all of the crossovers with Superman though. Arrow has been in post-script mode for what seems like ages now and should have ended three years ago.

I don't watch most cw shows though I appreciate how nothing about the shows are connected to their movies. DC TV has a loyal audience that understands the concept of less cinematic stories gimmicks. renewing 6 shows is a sign their crowd are not going anywhere.

Even the CW is debating whether to continue Arrow past the 8th season or cancel it.

Olicity ruined Arrow. The show should have ended in season 5.

    Yup.

Wish each season had more episodes though.

The reason it's still around is because people don't agree with you; for the past 3 years it's been regarded as the best DC show of all time. I personally find the humor overbearing at times and I dislike how it takes focus away from DC lore to focus on random real life historical figures, however the show is pretty damn good and has maintained consistent quality since the end of the first season
