I mean, I literally can't see why someone would be mad that she's asian besides racism... When it's black actors, well, I disagree with it, but I can understand the reasoning as they do look different from the originals in that way. But with Gemma, not really. Sersi and Gemma are both pretty, young, skinny/fit, dark-haired and, even the skin color itself, it's not like Gemma was a dark-skinned asian. She looks the part just fine.

I honestly haven't seen backslash against her casting anywhere else. With the characters that were genderbent, yeah, and even with some who weren't too. But with Gemma not really.

Honestly, more often than not, the way Sersi is drawn made her look Asian to me anyways.

A teenage Steve Rogers has successfully infiltrated Mother Night's indoctrination camp;

but now he must somehow stay alive for the next 30 hours until Sersi's incantation wears off,
and the adolescent Steve Rogers returns to the full size and strength of Captain America.
The situation looks hopeless when the young Cap is thoroughly beaten by the Sisters of Sin after he tries to escape.

Avengers #247 Sep 1984
"The Ties that Bind!" Guest-starring the Eternals.
When the Eternals reveal to their guests their origins as a separate species of humanity

created millennia ago by the genetic intervention of the space-born Celestials,
Starfox realizes that the brother of their former ruler Zuras who is named Alars,
is his father Mentor and that he and his fellow Titanians are also Eternals.
The Avengers locate their missing members and Captain Marvel joins the Wasp and Starfox in Olympia,
where Eros is invited to join in an ancient ritual.
To decide the destiny of their race, the gathered Eternals become one,
fusing into the Uni-Mind, a collective thinking organism.
Then, as the Vision and the Scarlet Witch watch on a tele-monitor, Captain Marvel
and the Wasp are struck down by Maelstrom, who declares himself master of Olympia.

Flashback cameos by Chronos, Zuras, Mentor, Sui-San and Thanos to recap the history of Titan.
Avengers Lineup: Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Starfox, Vision and the Wasp.

set is still being built in the Canary Islands, but this features massive gates. Decorated with lions and snakes. Apparently the valley is standing in for Persia: the entrance to Babylon. The world’s first empire that featured GODS.
