We have had this question for years: How far down do those eyes go?
Good point and in the interviews, it seems that Apocalypse is still a near immortal being. So maybe he is just trying to bring back some of ancient Egypt's sexual philosophies?
But Nur is a sleaze. That's sort of just how he is, that's who he is. He's ultimately something of a con artist.
I'm happy to see him be teamed up with Evan, who is still a pure little blueberry. Apocalypse has been dead for years and Evan was afraid of turning out like him.
I guess I'm sort of worried that Apocalypse will see him as a tempting second body.
In all seriousness, I think Apocalypse's team is less about sex than it is about freedom and having the choice to be in a loving relationship. Especially since as we see in this first issue, it's not like sex is an entirely foreign concept, it's just that Nate is putting forth the idea that it is something to move past, like hate and violence.
It was... okay. I didn't hate it and the art was nice but I'm not sure what is bringing to the table that other AUs in the X-line haven't done already. The only minis I am interested in are Nightcrawler's and Lovepocalypse, which were nicely set up here, but over all it's all looking pretty standard. I am hoping to be surprised but I'm too cynical at this point given the current x-quality we've been getting.
I guess I'm curious as to what this is. Are they in a pocket dimension? In Nate's head? Is everyone running around naked and drugged in a forest somewhere?
A really good issue! Solid story, nice introduction to the world of X without revealing too much...
Curious to see about the rest.
(It would have been perfect if Glob wasn't there)
I was starving in the desert, and the Glob appeared and put his hand in my mouth. SALVATION!
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
It was a really thoughtful issue and actually took some time to read and engage with due to the subtle levels of world-building and teasing. This world definitely feels like a passion project and this issue set all the minis up in interesting ways. Marvellous, Prisoner X, X-tremists, and X-tracts seem to be the most essential, with NextGen and Nightcrawler fleshing out a little more of the world.
Was the girl in the story (luna) the daughter of quicksilver, she used to see colors and auras around people?
