This isn’t really surprising since Kinberg is a huge Star Wars fan.

That would be fitting with Star War: The Rise of Skywalker coming out this year.

Jean is written very similar to Luke Skywalker and Vuk is written like Darth Sidious. Jean is has a special connection to the “force” and Vuk tells her that it is her “destiny” to give into the “force” and tempts her to kill her “father”.

These are simply stunning! I've plenty of screen savers for my phone for the foreseeable future.

Speaking of which, does anybody else think this would have been better received if this wasn’t marketed as a Dark Phoenix movie?

I think so it wouldn't be a title that feels hollow.

Not really. I do not think most people know of Jean Grey, Phoenix or Dark Phoenix. As such, I do not think it would have made a difference if called Supernova, Phoenix, Phoenix Rising or X-Men Dark Phoenix.

Also, it would have helped to have an X-Men movie spotlighting Jean with her growing Phoenix Power. With explanations for the audience. Then, a movie about Dark Phoenix would make sense and audiences could have and would have, logically followed what was happening. I think that would have helped the numbers.

I mean if they drop the "Dark" from the title, just calling it X-Men: Phoenix and not have the marketing campaign's selling point be that Jean will become the X-Men's greatest foe...because that was really misleading.

And I'm talking about critically received. Seen a lot of reviewers make source material comparisons, complain about it not committing to turning Jean evil, or completely misread Jean's arc as being the same as X3 due to their confirmation bias.

The "two movie, one screen" effect was strong with this movie.
