I remember actually being excited for the Trank FF. I was a kid when the Evans & Alba versions came out & I remember liking them from all the noise & colors but watching them again around the time Tranks came out realized they weren't that good. Especially Rise.
I know the horror aspects weren't for everyone but I get what he was trying to bring, especially since comic adapts at the time were heavy on the realism. I'd have loved to see what he could've made without studio interference. I just thought the idea of, hey these people have been exposed to something that's altering their bodies, how would they deal? was interesting. The Evans one touched on it but for comedy. I think there could've been a way to embrace color with the more Cronenberg horror elements.
