Default Has Anyone Read: American Freak" a Tale of the Un Men?

My goal is to read every Vertigo title published from it's inception to the late nineties. What I have heard about this miniseries was that it was not very good: it has reputation for being pretensious and incomprehensible. However, when I purchased the series in it's entirety at my LCS, I was surprised by how good the series was.

I will give the critics of the series this, the narration captions are a flowery, and quite frankly the book would be better off without them, but besides that, this comic was great.

Bought it during it's initial release run.

I was a fan. That said, it's very much a Vertigo series of it's time and I could see how it would not click with everyone.

I read the first TPB. Can't remember much about it, but I rated it 2/5
