I just HAD to know who this Esper was.

There are a few parallels between this version of Jean and that character. Both of them have powers beyond what those around them exhibit that no one completely understands, and when that character turns pink she can fly and her power effectively doubles. She also looks completely naked.

I think it takes a combination of raw power and fine control to make the population of New York [the planet?] bow down forever and ever while she looks so sexy and so nonchalant about it all.

Could be, although they could also be just plain terrified of a pretty girl who can turn the city upside down.

No, no, what I mean is that if this new power can only be used as a blunt, raw attack to knock people, that's not very interesting. It lacks "finesse". I hope Jeen will find other, more interesting way, of using it.

Let's keep it real here, Gladiator is considered powerful because he's a blatant Superman ripoff, not because anyone did anything particularly interesting with him. Ultimately he's a barrier to be overcome, nothing more.

If X-Men was a video game, Gladiator would be that boss you spend the first half of the game being afraid of. He'll will ultimately be beaten by a long, arduous, quasi-spiritual quest that seems difficult at the time, but once you get to the second half and the actual boss in retrospect he won't have been that big deal after all.
