Default The Justice League on Themyscira

Justice League #46 I did not like, but some readers did.

I often wonder. If most of us are okay with Steve being one of the men who can be invited on the Island. What about the JL memebers?

Thank you for sharing the podcast. I've long given up on JLA because nothing was moving me care about Perpetua & Luthor's machinations. I might return to it, though, and I love Xermanico's art.

What I saw, though, just reminds me of how tired I am of the Amazons being stuck in the world of spears, swords, & shields. Sure, the Amazons I grew up with brandished swords and shields, but they also had ray guns and weird-ass swan-shaped space ships. I am really ready for them to step back into the world of science while holding on to their traditions.

I mean, seriously - a Kryptonian and a Green Lantern show up, and they're going to attack them with swords? Gah. At least have a magic user in your team that's about to assault the Justice League. And maybe a swan ship!

Maybe for particular emergency situations but they'd need to be vouched for and accompanied by Diana or some other Amazon.

At no point were the Amazons a threat to anyone but themselves. As mentioned before their biggest offensive weaponry were arrows, swords and spears which were completely ineffectual. As weak as their war strategy was I didn't like Diana giving it away. Wonder Woman shows up with the Justice League but doesn't immediately find Hippolyta to tell her and the Amazons why they're there or what's happening. She could have called first at least, on the Magic Sphere or by some other means. There's no mention of Doom's Doorway, suddenly Themyscira has a Mount Tartarus. Diana makes the comment she doesn't know the way although she's been to Tartarus several times. She even almost got married there. Then of course there are more cannon fodder Amazons slain for no real reason.

The whole story seemed to be written by someone who had no knowledge of Wonder Woman lore.

Typical Nu52 BS spilling over. Can we not have basically every amazon be some caricature of a "feminazi". You read something like this and then read what Orlando is doing on WW and its a totally different setting.

Yea. I don’t mind if it’s a few Amazons. I don’t mind if they are hesitant but to kill men no. I did think about that the whole baby thing in new 52 are from extremist.

You are right. I think the only thing I was excited about was that Diana was able to lift a rock while the men couldn’t? I still don’t understand that.

Rucka’s Year One Amazons held a lot of potential, and potential for surprises, for the Amazons, and their various abilities, that just seems to be squandered and limited to them being trapped in the Bronze Age. I want a bit of my sci-fi Amazons back.

That's one thing I've never liked about some writers that portray the Amazons as man hater!! That is one of the things that put me off about the Amazons!! The movie the red son, i think that was the title of the movie where Superman's ship landed in Russia instead of the United States! I was really put off by WW in that movie!!

Yea the purple healing ray. Some Earth one tech would be nice. Diana uses the mind control radio to talk to her mother.

I’d love to see Hephaestus’s son, Kabiri, the creators of Nth metal, to tie into the Hawk mythology, and be the patrons of the Silver Swan. Kind of a nod to Helena Alexandros’s origin.

characters like Supergirl and Batgirl? I'm honestly surprised they don't visit regularly.
