Greg Hatcher is a legend at this contest. I don't know if all time, if anyone has more wins. We only counted last year's winners, but I think I've seen him ace this thing more than anyone else.

Thank you all. I'm very glad to see Mister X getting some love, although I have to admit I'm surprised. I thought for sure it'd be something more current.

And yes, thanks to WestPhillyPunisher for doing the count. New one up in a little bit.

Congratulations Greg! Appropriate that the winning cover had "The Architect".

Thanks to Iron Maiden, Shalla and Stoney for the votes. Happy I had the chance to share a cover by the Great Francois Schuiten.

I thought for sure we would see this cover too.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Congratulations to Greg Hatcher for a cover which makes me jealous because I am such a Howie Chaykin fanboy. The feel of the setting as a character in the book was a truly powerful part of that series. Even the spotlihghts made an "X".

And now the captain has learned that theme brilliantly selected by Shalla Bal brought out the best in us. I also had that "But they're ALL good" feeling. That, as they say, is a good problem to have. Buildings hold a special place in our hearts and minds. We treat them as markers, homes, and art. We love the Baxter Building, Avengers Mansion, and the JLA Satellite (which I would have argued as counting). Thank you, Shalla for a helluva great week.

Also thanks go out to foxley, worstblogever, and Kai "the spy" for their votes.

And how many of the covers featured New York in some way? Mine did.

Well, New York City is pretty iconic for buildings, and the majority of Marvel superheroes were based out of there in the past . . .

And, by the way, my cover featured Gotham City, not NYC.

Congrats Greg, and thanks to Scott Taylor for the vote. I had hoped someone else had posted this cover:

    "一人じゃないから。" AI、『Story』。

    "Knowing is half the battle."
    G.I. Joe.
