This is a difficult one. Because zatanna can erase Merlin with a word but Merlin can kill zatanna with a snap of her fingers. I
Feel like Merlin win because she has the faster casting spells then zatanna. Zatanna have to think of the right word before casting the spells which is not a good thing.

Zatanna has to speak, Merlin has to think or at most wave a hand.
Also, given the level of passive defence that Merlin has through her chronostasis immortality - a simple "eiD," might not cut it. Z might need to do a more complex spell which just gives Merlin more time to Exterminate Ray a hole in her.
Also, also, given the level of people Merlin hangs out with, while I'm blanking on specific speed feats for her, she should be quite a bit faster than Zatanna.
