    Avengers #247 Sep 1984
"The Ties that Bind!" Guest-starring the Eternals.
In Northern Greece the Wasp and Starfox wake up in the company of the Eternals!

Last issue's battle was a huge misunderstanding!
And now Starfox learns that he is also an eternal!
But that revelation means he must participate in the ritual of the Uni-Mind!

In spectacular fashion, all of the Eternals including Starfox take to the sky

and become the single entity known as the Uni-Mind!
Leaving the Wasp and Captain Marvel gasping in awe!
One potential problem though...what if a super-villain were to attack Olympia,
while the Eternals are formed in the Uni-Mind? Look out!

Flashback cameos by Chronos, Zuras, Mentor, Sui-San and Thanos to recap the history of Titan.
Avengers Lineup: Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Starfox, Vision and the Wasp.
NOTE: Maelstrom previously appeared in Marvel Two-in-One 72.

Script by Roger Stern. Art by Al Milgrom (breakdowns) and Joe Sinnott (finishes).

    Eternal Babylon

set is still being built in the Canary Islands, but this features massive gates. Decorated with lions and snakes. Apparently the valley is standing in for Persia: the entrance to Babylon. The world’s first empire that featured GODS.

I guess this is Sersi in "civilian mode."

I wonder if they're toning down her style here so there's more of a contrast when she becomes her Eternal self?

She probably has amnesia like in Gaiman's run so maybe she doesn't think she's special lol

Yeah probably, I'm just remembering in Gaiman's Eternals where she still kind of stood out as a divine beauty even before the reveal but I guess that's what you get when you're drawn by John Romita Jr. .

I was about to say that.

Also, the other set looks Meso-American and not Incan, so I wonder if they will follow with Ajak's connections to the Inca.

Well, JRJr's Eternals work was pretty strong in my opinion. I can be iffy on him on other stuff.

I mean, I like his work on occasion, but even when I like his stuff his style never conveys "beauty" to me.

I think he's kind of like Jack Kirby in that regard, although I think he can convey it well enough for me at times.
