Going with the Elite Commandos, mostly because we saw how badass they could be when they had proper intel and knew what they were getting into. The Predator absolutely blindsided them and they still had decent tactics, just a severe technological disparity.
The Colonial Marines actually had intel from Ripley, and were handicapped because Gorman was a shitty leader (decent soldier though). In their first outing they got curbstomped because of poor tactics and some bad luck.Current Pull: Amazing Spider-Man and Domino

Yeah, the marines have numbers here, but that's all. The other guys are just all-around better, especially with equipment equalized. Kind of like mini-action movie heroes in their own rights, whereas the marines were more 'realistic'.

Going with the Commandos here. They had tactics and teamwork beyond "shoot things uncontrollably." In fact they only turned to massed fire one time(I think) in the entire movie and that was in the minigun scene when Ventura storms in. The village raid showed us very good coordination and fire control, as well as planning on Dutch's part.

commandos seem to be more experienced and had far better teamwork.
the marines came off more like...........meatheads. despite ripley telling them how dangerous the xenos were, they didn't seem to take the situation as serious as they should've and thus, kinda fell apart when shit got real.
the commandos, despite knowing jack squat about the pred, still were able to keep their cool and adapt to the situation.
