I would say Electro is one of the best Spider-Man villains but quite underused compared to villains as Doctor Octopus.

Hail to the original and still best version of Electro. Max will always be number one with me.

The big problem with Electro, or Max Dillon, is that he thinks way too small for someone whose powers entail near-total control over one of the fundamental forces of the universe itself. Come to think of it, that could be interpreted as something he has in common with Spider-Man himself, that beyond being underestimated by others, they ultimately underestimate themselves as well and that's why they underperform or underachieve compared to the immense potential and raw ability they both have.

Electro was one of the initial members of the Sinister Six (first seen in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 in 1964):

I was very surprised with the take that the 90's Spider-Man TAS did with the character perhaps the MCU will make use of it as well?

That could be fun to see. An Electro who really knows how to use his power would definitely be an Avengers-caliber threat. In fact, the TAS version was only defeated because Spider-Man played on his ego and got him to trap himself in a temporal vortex.

I think Electro is under-rated. He should be a major threat.

Its shocking how Electro have been underused in the Marvel stories.
Electro is one of the original Sinister Six members and outside of Kraven he was the one used in less stories, but Kraven have been a B-List more or less without counting with the Kraven Last Hunt and a few others stories.(That by itself was disapointing because i think Kraven created by Stan Lee is a original villain.)
Besides only Sandman had less stories but he became a villain of the Fantastic Four and apeared in other stories so of the original Sinister Six,Electro is the most under used villain in stories and have one of the best first stories in Amazing Spider-Man of all the villains of the Sinister Six.

Anybody remember when Electro was blue in the comics?

Potential movie synergy? Although I think this panel was from before that.

Yeah, blue Electro started in the late 90s and abandoned this look after he got spanked by Venom.

    I remember that.

That was back when Byrne was giving al the classic chapter horrible new looks and origins, like Vultures Tuxedo jacket and Dr. octopus's armored legs and arms.

    Blue Electro was horrible.

In fact, any design of Electro that takes away his awesome mask is horrible.

As for him not living up to his potential, I remember one comic after his major powerup where he was sitting around trying to think of a master scheme and couldn't come up with anything good. He wondered if people like Magneto hired writers for their schemes.
