Obviously not an entry, but I had to post it.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I was too young to comprehend it when it came out, but this scene definitely freaked me out.

Made me think of a certain Hammer vampire film:

Ah the much criticized Wonder Twins with their well thought-out transformations. Back then I always thought they made the best choices of animal and water. Good thing DC finally rehabilitated their image and they now have their own title.

Not to go off topic, but I bought that comic today, it's really pretty good. There were two times during reading it that I laughed out loud.

Raistlin Majere from Dragonlance. He was the evil twin.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

One of these two is a serial killer that kills other Predators for fun:

"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."

The pedant in me is compelled to point out those girls aren't twins. They were about a year apart in age. It's mentioned when they're explaining the history of the hotel, and how the caretaker went mad and murdered his family.

(I'll crawl back into my box now. )
