So this is a kinda random, observation, but I like how they called the enforcer guys, ‘clerks’, unassuming, harmless titles for the secret police.

Yeah, and that they appear to not be telling the kids who will graduate to their positions what's going on is freaky.

Why is the finger snapping so unnerving? I don't know why, but it is. It somehow dips into the Uncanny Valley because it is something we sort of get, like clapping, but it isn't clapping. And then there's the implication that Nate got rid of fucking clapping because bringing your hands together is too damn suggestive.

That is just how committed Nate is to the no sex thing: he outlawed clapping because it was too sexy.

Also, good point about the fire being around Unveil as well. Maybe she isn't a Nate plant?

But yeah it has a surprisingly cool set up. I am really interested in what the hell is going on. And I'll echo an earlier post, Paige looks fantastic.

I think for Shark Girl is more "Scared ***tless of being suspect of even just being mildy disagreeing with the authority due to habit of mindwipe rebels"
Really this "utopia" is as creepy as the Twilight's zone episode "it's a good life"...
Seriously this si one of the few times that X-men comics really make me feel genuinely uneasy and slightly creeped out.

Yeah, it's pretty creepy, especially since it doesn't feel like anyone but Nate is the villain here. And Nate thinks he's doing a good thing. It'd be less creepy if Apocalypse or Mr. Sinister or someone was the villain.

If they are parts of Legion, then that might explain a way for them to not be total plants. It seems like the plants would be characters Nate had copied, it new ones.
