He’s more of a Joker loophole. They’ve been using Joker sparingly as of late because he is always way overused. But with BWL they get Joker without using Joker. So expect to see a ton of this guy in the coming years.

Uh you can’t have “hope and heroism” if they’re not going up against something threatening with meaningful stakes. If it’s just heroes sitting around having a cookout that’s not exactly “heroic”. I wish they were focusing on villains other than the exact same lineup, but I don’t see the problem with starting to build towards something big.

it's kind of scary to think two years worth of Rebirth convinced a lot of fans that cross country trips with your family and planning a wedding is all it takes to satisfy some in superhero dramas.

Don't get the fascination with putting villains front and center. To me they're absolutely nothing without the hero.

But you can't have a story without a villian.

Not all villains need to be deep characters, but villains should not entirely revolve around their heroic opponents. They should have goals of their own, and backstories to explain why they are the way they are. Initiaves like this one help to flesh out villains.

    It's been done.

    A lot.

    Recently, even.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Only if the stories are well-written, and there's no guarantee of that happening in all cases.

You know, I wouldn't be adverse to Jason Todd killing Batman Who Laughs, if it would stop this sort of thing.

True, but that’s the case for everyone, heroes and villains alike no?

My first thought was "Didn't we just do this?" but I'm looking forward to it.

I wonder if we're going to see more than the Legion of Doom.
