Pan sounds interesting and makes way for some Japanese heroes to appear
"The rest of the “Atlas” creative team includes writer Jeff Parker and artists Nico Leon and Carlo Pagulayan. In the series, the do-gooders find that someone has flipped a switch and created a “cross-Asian portal city” called Pan. In Pan, Asian neighborhoods get geographically scrambled and then stitched together into one city. So, the streets of Tokyo could be next to neighborhoods from Honolulu, Manila and some of Marvel’s fictitious Asian countries."

Maybe Red Ronin paired with former Shogun Warriors pilot Genji Odashu. Jade Dragon who was said to have lost his mutant power during M-Day. His dragon from was original magic-based so maybe he had a passive mutation like Razoback who could pilot/drive any vehicle. Wouldn't mind seeing Sunfire cameo as well or the mystic Professor Xu from the Doctor Strange series.

Oh yeah, that's pretty sweet. Something tells me Madripoor is going to end up here.
Nice. Didn't know too much about some of these characters. Some i would love to see...

As for me, I'd like to see some of the other Chinese characters. Members of the Ascendant, like Vector, Saber, Weather Witch, or especially Sun Wukong, would make excellent additions/antagonists to the Agents. Maybe throw in Radioactive Man and Collective Man as members of a shadowy, corrupt cadre within the CCP who secretly plot their own agendas.
At the same time, I believe I read somewhere that Pak was pushing hard for Wong to show up in this cast. Hey, wouldn't mind to have someone versed in magic on the team.

"Honolulu" seems to be one of the neighborhoods in the merged "cross-Asian portal city" per writer.
There have been quiet a few teams from China S.P.E.A.R., the Ascendants, the Dynasty, People's Defense Force, the Eight Immortals, 3Peace and China Force. A revived China Force would make a good foil for the Agents of Atlas.
I like Wong but i would rather see Professor Xu https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Xandr...Xu_(Earth-616) as the magic-based character of the team. There is also the Wu https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Alice...er_(Earth-616)

Woo! Pagulayan is the third Filipino artist involved in the New AoA now, after Yu and Suayan. And I like the idea of Pan being a mishmash of diverse Asian cities. That means I don't have to take a flight to go to Japan! (Sort of.)
Politically yes. Geologically, it is Pacific. And Ethno-linguistically, native Hawaiians and all other Polynesians are Austronesian, which covers all of island Southeast Asia, Taiwan (the indigenous Formosan peoples) and even Madagascar.

I think some of the members of a revived Chinese team would be a good foil for the Agents of Atlas. Others would be great allies. Weather Witch seemed very level headed and willing to listen. Vector was a government dissident. So they would be sympathetic and willing to work with the group, especially considering that characters like Aero and Sword Master are a part of it. Xian Zheng, who heads S.P.E.A.R. seemed very open and willing to work with others. I could easily see him discussing matters with Jimmy. At the very least, Xian would work with Jimmy and the Agents if it meant China's protection (and I guarantee, he'd be real subtle and nuanced about it.)
But other characters? I definitely feel the diehard Chinese Communist stalwarts, like a Radioactive Man or Collective Man, would not want to yield towards the Agents. Those characters would be the ones to see Shang and Jimmy as either being American or traitors to China. (In their defense, Jimmy and Shang have seen a lot more of the world, so their prospective is certainly much broader than the other Chinese characters.)
Simply put, there are a ton of levels of complication that can occur when mixing the Agents of Atlas with the Chinese characters. (I suspect it would be the same with nationalist Japanese characters, like Sunfire.)
Dude, thanks for the links. Wow, these are really great characters. I'm digging Alice Gulliver being she's a mixed race from Hong Kong. I taught a number of students like her (mixed, not magical mind you ) when I was in Hong Kong.I like Wong but i would rather see Professor Xu https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Xandr...Xu_(Earth-616) as the magic-based character of the team. Hey Ray. Pagulayan will be the illustrator for Parker's story on the OG Agents of Atlas. Nico Leon is set to illustrate the new Agents of Atlas. Leon's latest work just showed up in the War of Realms: Spider-Man and the League of Realms limited series that came out this week. I'll be honest, I'm on the fence concerning it. It's dynamic, but a little too cartoony. I've grown used to Gang's work (which was really great in the latest issue). spoilers:end of spoilers. Again, we'll see how Leon's work holds up.
Again, he captures a lot of great expressions during the issue. The scenes where Silk and Crescent were in the restaurant, or the group was talking over strategies, Gang really depicted some great facial expressions

Holy crap, there's been a lot of media coverage so far with the Agents of Atlas. Lots of news organizations have been publishing the Associated Press article that talks about the new limited series. It made NBC News and SCMP! Check it out!:

That doesn't surprise me when I give the news coverage a second look. The local media coverage for Wave was intense, and the scheduled 3-hour signing by Suayan for his variant cover stretched to 8 hours. Marvel's tapping into the Asian and Asian-American audience, and even though the Philippines constitutes a tiny part of the overall readership, it is nonetheless loud and boisterous when it wants to.

China will be seeing a lot of buzz too. They've extended the deal that created Sword Master and Aero. I guess we can expect their Chinese comics to be extended, which will in turn mean more issues for their US solos.
