I saw Him as more of an Old Testament God in the beginning of the story. Certainly played for comic value, but the attitude was very OT. And if OT was Christian, we wouldn't have needed Christ.

I put him in the same class as John Constantine when it's comes to faith.

John doesn't have faith. He knows heaven is real. He's told it to f*** off more than once.

Punisher, oddly enough, has shown Christian beliefs on more than a few occasions. He's apparently a Catholic. On very rare occasions he's actually shown to go to confession.

The Ultimate version of Capt America. In one story Ult Cap said something to Ult Thor about Thor being delusional. Thor said something like, "But you go to church every Sunday, how is that different?" In an mini series featuring Ult Cap, the story ended with him reading the bible to Ult Nuke ( who Cap beat up and put in the hospital).
