Question So they say Tom King humanized Batman like never before...

Any other comics whereby the characters received similar treatment?

    Um................... all of them.
A very rich man experiences his parents murdered before his eyes
decides to avenge them in a world where super beings and masked people
reside........... yeah, I would say Bruce Wayne has been acting very normal
    since Detective Comics 27

Well, he seems to be driving away some long-time fans . . .

He is. He's deconstructing Batman's entire mythology. This lifelong Batman fan has never read a better run on the character. HIGHLY recommended.

Same. Im currently racing through his run and am highly enjoying it. Couldnt say why some fans seem so bent out of shape over it.

Personally, I don't think King's done anything with Batman "like never before". Except maybe I Am Gotham; I've never read any Bat-story like that. Thank god.

But there's been quite a few stories I've liked - mostly single issues/short arcs.

For me...in the modern longer runs...it's better than Snyder by a lot, but not on par with Morrison.

I have only read the first 30 issues of his run and while it's not bad, I just find it really dull, Detective comics Rebirth has been far more enjoyable so far.

To be honest though, I have not really loved anything from Tom King, even his Vision, Omega Men and The Sheriff of Baghdad haven't done anything for me.

For me, all three of those are superior to his Batman run. Add to that list Grayson, Mister Miracle, and the Darksied War: Green Lantern one-shot, and I think the case can be made that his strengths lie in personal stories that can be told with fringe characters/concepts as opposed to showrunning one of the big franchises.

It takes a lot for me not to read Batman but I dropped his Batman. My biggest problem is just the writing is very dull, usually boring. I have other problems with it, the stories just aren't much fun, everyone is so depressed, Batman himself acts a bit slow in the head or something, like he seems to have trouble coherently speaking sometimes. I just don't like it, but other than Grayson I haven't liked much of his other stuff either.
