I like that we have a Galactus appreciation thread...but I am sure many aliens/alien planets would not feel the same way! Let's not send this thread out over the Cosmic Beacon throughout the galaxies because an invasion would be eminent!

One of my favorite runs. I know Galactus is back to being the Devourer of Worlds, but I don't think it's totally disregarding what Ewing did.

Duggan gave it its tragedy, especially with how Galactus don't actually have to force the Silver Surfer back into his service. That was simply done to take Norrin Radd down with him.

I do love me some OG Galactus but the Ultimate Universe version always seemed way more terrifying to me. I think it just seemed more plausible to me than a big dude wandering through the cosmos.

I think what makes it scarier is that it lacks Galactus'Galactus' personality. You can humanize Galactus, you can reason with him, you know he doesn't like his cosmic role but he does it because he knows it's for the best.

Part of what made the Ultimate line so scary was that it lacked the gods and abstracts that at least try to make things better or just running in 616.

Galactus is one of my faves but I feel sorry for the guy, he's turned into the biggest jobber in the MU. Long gone is the days when he was feared, when the thought of him coming to earth made the heroes **** their pants. Now its no big deal, they just bitch slap back to the other side of the universe. Young Jean Grey just punked him awhile back, the latest in a long line to do it. Marvel needs to make him a force again.
