Default Best and worst final issues?

What are the best and worst final issues of comics you've read/

Outlaw Nation (vertigo) seemed a bit rushed with the writer seeming to have lost interest in what he's writing . A usually docile female character kills one of the villians with the explanation that "it's the quiet ones you gotta watch out for". The fact that the TPB was put out by another publisher says a lot...

Static.(Milestone). Apparently in this one a supporting character is shot and the comic ended before the perpetrator was revealed.

Hard Time by Steve Gerber. Given the circumstances Steve did alright on this one. The young lead character facing 50 years in jail. The story jumps 49 years later, ties up a lot of loose threads and leaves us with a bittersweet ending...

    and YOURS?

Do you mean final issues of a series or do you account for runs as well?

    Ex Machina 50...
Was a whirlwind of an issue. Concluding a series that was fairly realistic and reserved, issue 50 was balls to the walls insanity, and served a fitting conclusion to the plot points and foreshadowing built up throughout the comic. This issue cemented Ex Machina, in my opinion, as Brian K Vaughan's best work.

It always seemed like they gave them about ten seconds notice on that one. It's even more of an achievement if that was the case.

I've only ever heard negative criticism of it but I loved the ending as well.

Not necessarily one of the best, but Dave Sim's Cerebus deserves props for its 300 issue run.

James Robinson's Starman. The perfect send off for a reluctant hero.

I remember being particular pissed at the rush job to end Mahou Sensei Negima. I know it got a sequel, but it felt like the writer just went 'You know what, screw this I want to do something different'.

I thought the ending to Y The Last Man was pretty good. I'm not ashamed to say I actually wept a little bit.

Worst: Preacher. Whenever I re-read the series, I stop at the second-last issue. Much better that way.

Best: Can't think of one right now, but I do agree with Ex Machina, as mentioned earlier.

I have to second that one. It was such a satisfying conclusion. I'm not going to lie: I cried a little.

ROM: SPACEKNIGHT (original Marvel version) kind of crash-landed with # 75.

The way the 1996 Deadpool series ends is pretty bad: "Cliffhanger, read what follows in a different series from the same creative team"

Issue 30 (if I recall correctly) of volume 4 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an abrupt ending with no resolution to any of the dangling plot threads. And not long after that creators sold rights to these characters.

Flash 350 is a good end to me. Proper resolution to a trial and a solid series conclusion with a happy ending after the editor announced to the writer that the character will die.

    BEST: HITMAN(DC)
Tommy & Nat go out in a manly blaze of glory while dreaming of the bar where the beer is free & all their friends are there with them.

    WORST: CALVIN & HOBBES
It's the worst because it ended.

That whole last year of that series was so hard to read. Steve Ditko was so far beyond his prime and his art style just didn't work well on a book like Rom.
