My best guess is its from a Supergirl issue. Anyone can say this as Supergirl is sitting at the top.

Yeah, it was a back up strip that ran during New Krypton and was collected into a special one shot. Really good stuff.

how important has Jimmy been in post-crisis and also in Rebirth stories?

And what has been his best story arc in the last 20 years?

I like him, but outside of live action I don't know much about him.

After his own title technically ended pre crisis, he was still in Superman Family. Afterward, the post crisis upside was that while he no longer had any features, he was folded into the main titles. I guess he had the most subplots after Lois. To a humorous bent, he became the struggling young city dweller with a bonus of being hard lucked and stuck in the crazy world of Superman. A lot of the Kirby stuff was brought back so he'd go to the famous Wild Area and pal around with the Newsboy Legion. He also hung out a lot with Perry's son Jerry, Lucy, a character named Bibbo, and had a vampire gal pal named Babe. He eventually worked his way up in the world of broadcast to having his own show, which he squandered to protect Superman's identity.

Later on he had a few other friends and a girlfriend from the Forever People named Misa. I never read Metropolis the mini series so I'm not sure how he adjusted to the pre flashpoint era.

But for the last 20 years, I can't recommend the Nick Spencer stories highly enough.

In Rebirth he was hardly there. He would appear for a panel or two to show that he's there. Lois and Clark work in the Daily Planet. Bendis has brought in a marked improvement. His office feels full of life. And i quite enjoy his Jimmy Olsen. Jimmy had a bigger role in New-52. He is known as Superman's pal. There he was Clark Kent's pal. But since, you did not ask about New-52, perhaps you have read that.
