With Dex in Atrocitus' crew, that leaves Bleez as the sole (Soule?) remaining member of this title... Yet it doesn't feel one bit like a new writer cleaning house for a new direction. This totally felt natural and with real stakes, exactly like his Swamp Thing book is playing out.

I have absolutely no doubt that it was his plan all along.
There is a scene in RL # 33 that clearly implies it...

It's a scene where Zox leaves Skallox alone while he searches for Atrocitus in the starship. Then Skallox talks to someone, saying he wants to go to his home planet. I don't see the implication that he wishes to betray Atrocitus, but we'll see.

Also, Zox's starship crashes but it's not shown completely blowing up...

Skallox scanning Atrocitus' location in the ship. ZZ just leaves and Skallox speaks with someone unseen through his ring and says "I found them" and his mysterious partner asks him "are you sure you want to..."
So Skallox clearly planned all this with someone (probably Guy).

Oh, yeah, that scene. I actually originally took that as showing him betraying the rest of the crew.

Zox is dead, he had a hole blown out the back of his head/body on top of the ship crashing into the planet... though I would love it if he wasn't.
