Default Who else would you consider worthy of lifting Thor's hammer?

Are there Marvel characters who have never lifted Thor's hammer, but who based on his/her long history of valor, you feel should be worthy of lifting Mjolnir?

Two who come to mind for me are the Thing (Ben Grimm) and Rom: Spaceknight of Galador.

    Adult Cable?
Ommadon: “By summoning all the dark powers I will infest the spirit of man So that he uses his science and logic to destroy himself. Greed and avarice shall prevail, and those who do not hear my words shall pay the price. I'll teach man to use his machines, I'll show him what distorted science can give birth to. I'll teach him to fly like a fairy, and I'll give him the ultimate answer to all his science can ask. And the world will be free for my magic again.”

What is the criteria again? Do you still have to 1. prove yourself worthy, and 2. defeat the current wielder in combat? And if this is truly a magical spell, not science, are we still allowing that someone with superior mystical abilities than Odin can counter or cancel the spell outright and lift it?

Mjolnir worthiness is not judged by Odin's enchantment anymore, it's judged by the Mother Storm inside of it. You can find ways to change the rules so someone normally unworthy can lift it by using something like a cosmic cube that just warps reality, but the only requirement to lift it normally is that the lifter presently has some form of moral purity.

That being said, a character like Black Panther who's a hardass and became a player in the Incursions would be disqualified unless he underwent some fundamental changes.

Meanwhile-- Off the top of my head, I think characters like Ms. Marvel, Falcon (post-Snap Wilson retcon), and perhaps Shang-Chi could do it, if they truly believed that they needed to and in themselves.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing; T'challa definitely needs to atone for his failures during Secret Wars.

I was thinking maybe Iron Fist especially since he's been a pretty good protector of Kun Lun (I'm talking Brubaker's run) and he's never been one to give up on people.

Also Matt Murdock, the things and people he gave up to save people is astronomical, and on that note Spidey too would qualify in my mind.

In BP's case it might sort of depend on when he was doing it and under what writer. A McGregor BP was almost noble to a fault. He could probably juggle the hammer with one hand. But a Priest BP or a Hickman BP I think would have issues with it.

And I'd even say the same for Steve. THere are probably low periods in his history where he couldn't lift it either. I don't think he'd be able to lift it during Time Runs Out either.

I'm thinking Colossus or Nightcrawler might be able to with the X-Men. Both of them just oozes goodness, maybe Jean Grey too.

I think Spiderman should be worthy.

A Captain Universe would by default be able to lift it given its requirement of having a genuine good host (at least at the time of hosting). The only hangup in that regard is pretty much that they'd have virtually no reason to being able to outclass it.

I would love to see Nightcrawler lift it.
