It was. But he just seems like a cranky old bastard nowadays, and truth be told, I haven't read anything from him for YEARS.

He is VERY cranky, and VERY much a "get off my lawn" and "back in my day..." kind of guy.

He also has a weird belief that fans should only read comics for about 5 years when they are very young, then move on to other things. He spouts this on is personal message boards, with fans who are clearly older, have been reading for many years, agreeing with him.

Sorry if I went on a tangent there, but I got into a "debate" with him regarding his stance on reverse blackface (he called the casting of Laurence Fishburne as Perry White reverse blackface), and he responded by banning me from his site. Perfectly within his right to do, mind you, but definitely petty IMO.

The only thing I’ve read by him was Aquaman and I was a fan. So if he can follow up Johns and the greatness he brought to Aquaman, then yeah, I can see him writing a good Flash.
