Hero for Hire, Defender, FF, Avenger, Defender redux.

    Luke Cage

I like several of the others but Luke and I go back.

There needs to be room for some more digital-only minis based on Marvel's black characters.

    No.

There should be "Digital First" that are later collected and available in a print comic, but "digital-only" really annoys me since I (like some others) are not digital comic book consumers.

By the way, I might have figured out what daBronzeBomma was talking about when he posted:

    I voted Black Panther.

Especially written by Priest, Hudlin, Busiek, or Liss.

Honorable mentions to Falcon, Cage, Storm, Monica Rambeau, Blade, War Machine, & Bishop.

I don't think that Black Marvel can truly be counted in the ranks of heroes. Perhaps early in his career, but certainly not later when he sold his soul to the devil in an attempt to feed his shattered ego.

When I was younger, it was probably between Night Thrasher or Sunspot. Now Sunspot, followed closely by Falcon.

    I voted Blade.

I can’t believe Marvel can’t or won’t launch a kick ass book with him and his peripheral characters.

Any particular reason why they should have?

Look, isn't he suppose to be involved with the Avengers soon?
Maybe that could lead to something.

I get how problematic dude was out of the gate but shoutout to Luke Cage. Most of this is generational, I got hip to him in the mid 80's during his team-up years and he just had a gravity to him that still kind of captures me. This isn't a hive-mind thing at all, I realize Jordan's (T'Challa) greatness and he is the man but for example, when I was watching the NBA on NBC, Scottie Pippen was my favorite player cause he played the wing, it's a position thing. Before him James Worthy was my favorite when I was smaller and he played the same position. Yes his teammate was the more popular Magic Johnson (not sure which Black Marvel Hero he'd be) but those guys didn't play in a vacuum. Not for nuthin' Worthy played in glasses and that was dope back then too.

No shade but as someone who rocks with both Marvel and DC (albeit in a lesser capacity), if this was a DC poll you'd have to cut the characters in half.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?
    You bet yer ass.
