Damian also used Red Bird in Batman Inc. That name's been around.
...Spice Wing.
If he's using his New 52 outfit I wanna call him Red Swan
Does it have to be a bird?
Red Wire. Because he hacks stuff.

Fine; then Damian can be Redwing, and Tim can remain as Robin.

Sorry; I meant Redbird. The point was, Damian has taken that name before; let him be the one to change his codename.

No, Tim surrendered the name to Damian and instead eventually went by "Red Robin".
It's up to Tim to figure out a new one for himself if he doesn't stay with "Red Robin".
(If Tim intended to take back the "Robin" mantle from Damian, he's about ten years too late at this point.)
If Tim wants “Robin” back, him and Damian must engage in the ancient right of passage ritual until one of them dies or yields.
“let's see: I could squabble with Damian about which of us should be called ‘Robin’, or I could, I don't know, prove that Bruce is still alive, and bring him home. What to do, what to do…”
He has every bit as much right to take it back as Damian had to take it in the first place.

Ok; I'll concede the point: he shouldn't stoop to Damian's level.

Stoop to Damian's level? Dick the original Robin. The guy who created and owns the mantle gave it to Damian. To give him purpose and give him direction [You know what the mantle was created for in the first place]
and later Batman the Guy who works with Robin gave endorsed Damian as Robin.
Robin does not belong to Tim and Dick had every right to take it and give it to the kid who needed it.
Dick doesn't own “Robin”; he did willingly surrender it. And if you're going to argue that Tim doesn't have the right to take it back, the only consistent position is to argue that Dick didn't have that right, either.

Repeating what you just said doesn't make it any more true.
