That's cool but my first thought of cardinal is the man of cloth, not the bird.
    Especially crimson...

Plus, it has the feel of the super old DC Detective Comics detectives. I don't want to toot my own horn here, but I think this one is a winner.
I still am not thilled with it; makes me think too much of the Catholic church and the College of Cardinals.

Man, this thread right here demonstrates the immense creativity of is comic fans. We have have come up with dozens of variations of "Red Robin" without actually having to use that name.

Red Robin isn't inspired enough, but if we just change the flying feathered creature and specify which red we are talking about... There, that's an infinitely better and less forgettable name than Red Robin- how iconic! This variation of red-hued songbird would save all of Tim's problems and demonstrate an evolution of the character!

Hm, or maybe we'll use other variations of the graduated successful Robins, it worked for them so it'll work for him. I'm sure Redwing will help Tim shine.

No reds, no colors, no hoods, no hats, no wings, no birds and bats. Giving Tim a name with any of these elements homogenizes the Robins.
It's the Dynamic Duo! Batman and Robin!... and Red Robin and Red Hood and Nightwing and Batwoman and Batgirl and Orphan and Spoiler and Bluebird and Lark and Gotham Girl and Talon and Batwing and Huntress and Azreal and Flamebird and Batcow?

Since when could just anybody do what we trained to do? It makes it all dumb instead of special. Like it doesn't matter anymore.

Well technically it should be 5 since he's Robin again.

5 would be Damian, with Stephanie Brown at #4.
(Unless you throw in Carrie Kelly, in which case Tim probably gets bumped to #4.)

I personally don't really count Steph. She was Robin for like a second then "died". I would say the same for Jason but his death was actually important.
