Aren't all of the main batboys have been given a prince title in some shape or form?
Higgins wanted to do a Prince of Gotham arc with Dick until Death of The Family changed his mind
Lobdell first used the title for Jason in his Death of the Family but the current arc is the first official use
I think Tim was given that title during the time he became an official Wayne heir? Mockingly? I don't really remember...
Then, of course, there's Damian who's basically Al Ghul royalty...

Yes, like most things when it comes to the Robins that word has been interchangeable.

I think that, too. I suspect that if anyone gets a new identity, it will be Damian.

The Butler of Gotham sounds fitting for a nickname since his role is to clean up the streets of Gotham

    That ^ is the symptom.

The solution, call him: Nytquil !

It's got both necessary references the (dark)Nite+Quill(as in a bird feather) .

Kinda corny, but I've seen worse.

Personally I'm a fan of Rook, given the double-header of being a bird-name and a chess reference (reflecting his status as detective/strategist).

I like Nytquil!. Tim is like a nasty medicine where the manufacturer knows the patient needs to swallow a lot of alcohol before you can stand the smell of it. It also causes boredom and sleepiness.

    Already used elsewhere.

    And, more recently,

Given that two of the three volumes about the above character, were published by someone other than the rights holder, I'm pretty sure they could work something out, particularly if they guarantee that they will use a very different visual and MO (For instance, Tim is unlikely to use guns, and would likely favor a cape and cowl/cape and mask rather than WP!Rook's western-themed outfits).

Whoever this Dark Horse character is, he deserves to keep his own name. Tim Dreck has stolen from other characters enough already. If we're looking at chess pieces, how about "The Pawn"?

No way, Pawns are minor players by definition. The whole point of Tim's name change is likely to be prompting him as an character.

In that case, why not "The Queen"?

Except "queen" is more associated with female cats at that or gay men, neither of which applies to Tim.

I did consider "Bishop", but as that is occassionally associated with the Arrowverse version of Bill Wintergreen, usually a Deathstroke ally, and also the moderately high-profile X-Men Lucas Bishop.

A related option I considered which has similar meanings to Rook (bird, related to a chess piece) would be Cardinal.

Done. This is the winner. And to freak out his foes, he always plays, "We Will Rock You!" and "Killer Queen".
