Sorry about that, SB. I can certainly empathize.

It's an eye-catching cover (one of Adams's best IMO). Great choice!

    Wonderful topic!

By Crom so many good Savage Sword/Savage Tales Conan covers, how to choose just one!
Though already beautifully represented by icctrombone's great choice.
And darn Bizarre Adventure X-Men taken!
Although that Bizarre Adventure Thor one, is likely about to show up and steal this thread)
I'm going with (for personal reasons just to celebrate it) Deadly Hands: and Marvel's first Latino hero...

Great contest. So hard to pick one. There was a cornucopia of wonderful covers on the Marvel Mags. Do I go with one of the awesome Savage Sword covers by Boris or Earl Norem? A classic Bob Larking Monster cover? Something painted by a Marevl regular?
Well, I will go with Epic, which had one masterpiece on the cover after another. Might as well go with one of the best damn artist our medium evr had, who did this special work for the first issue.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

If you personally don't think it qualifies, even though the description specifically cited Marvel's "Mad Magazine" knockoffs... then don't vote for it.

Some were clear imitations of Mad Magazine, Heavy Metal, and the Warren Horror mags..others featured their company owned characters. One seemed to be them trying to do Tiger Beat with superheroes! So anything from Savage Tales to Pizzazz is far game!
Your entry was a regular-sized comic book that was code-approved.
